How much Prince Andrew 'paid' accuser Virginia Giuffre in court settlement
They settled a US civil lawsuit in 2022Prince Andrew and his accuser Virginia Giuffre reached an out-of-court settlement in 2022 over allegations of sexual assault, with the duke paying an undisclosed sum.
In 2021, Ms Giuffre filed a lawsuit against Andrew in the US, accusing him of sexual assault. She alleged that she was made to sleep with Prince Andrew on three occasions when she was 17 after being trafficked by convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The royal has always denied the accusations and claimed he doesn’t remember ever meeting her.

How much did Prince Andrew pay Virginia Giuffre?
In February 2022, Prince Andrew and Ms Giuffre reached an out-of-court settlement.
They settled for an undisclosed sum. However, the duke made it clear, by doing so, he did not accept any liability.
The figure isn’t known. However, reports suggest it could have been as much as £12m ($16m).
In a letter to the US judge at the time, lawyers for both Ms Giuffre and Prince Andrew wrote jointly to confirm the settlement.
A statement included with the letter said: “Virginia Giuffre and Prince Andrew have reached an out of court settlement.
“The parties will file a stipulated dismissal upon Ms Giuffre’s receipt of the settlement (the sum of which is not being disclosed). Prince Andrew intends to make a substantial donation to Ms Giuffre’s charity in support of victims rights.”

It continued: “Prince Andrew has never intended to malign Ms Giuffre’s character.
“He accepts that she has suffered both as an established victim of abuse and as a result of unfair public attacks. It is known that Jeffrey Epstein trafficked countless young girls over many years.
“Prince Andrew regrets his association with Epstein, and commends the bravery of Ms Giuffre and other survivors in standing up for themselves and others.”
It concluded: “He pledges to demonstrate his regret for his association with Epstein by supporting the fight against the evils of sex trafficking, and by supporting its victims.”

Virginia Giuffre’s posthumous memoir
Ms Giuffre claimed she was a victim of sex trafficking by Epstein from the age of 16.
Epstein died in prison in August 2019 after taking his own life. He was awaiting trial after being arrested on sex trafficking charges. He had pleaded not guilty before his death.
Ms Giuffre tragically took her own life in April of this year, at the age of 41.

Before her death, she wrote a memoir titled Nobody’s Girl which will publish this month. It will reportedly detail the alleged occasions with the Duke of York.
The duke has always denied any wrongdoing. Andrew stepped back from royal duties in 2019 as his association with Epstein and the sexual assault allegations made headlines.
He lost his military titles and royal patronages in January 2022, weeks before his out-of-court settlement.
According to reports, Prince Andrew now mostly spends his days at his Royal Lodge home in Windsor.
