The public can now experience the royal treatment for themselves as a cottage has been listed on Airbnb.
Ever wanted to experience the life of a royal? Well, now you can as The Garden Cottage on Sandringham Estate is available for rent. Located in Norfolk, the 20,000-acre estate was built for Edward VII in 1862 and has been passed down four generations. Sandringham served as Queen Elizabeth II‘s Christmas retreat, which fans saw as the backdrop of her annual Christmas speeches. While fans won’t be able to enter Sandringham House itself, they can admire the property externally by staying in the neighboring Garden House, a detached hideaway.
Inside King Charles’ home – Sandringham Estate Cottage
The Norfolk holiday rental is nestled in Sandringham’s perfectly pruned gardens, on the doorstep of the beloved local beaches. King Charles‘ cottage offers four bedrooms, accommodating up to eight guests, and two bathrooms.
Other than its location, the exclusive property is given the royal touch as all furniture and artworks were once housed in a royal residence, including antiques. Even kitchen mugs are memorabilia of the monarch’s milestones, including the 90th birthday of Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother in 1990.
Visitors also have access to the cottage’s outdoor space, including a formal walled garden. Away from the impressive real estate land, guests can take a walk down to the main House and enter the St Mary Magdalene Church. It is regularly used as a place of worship by the Royal Family.
Listed by Norfolk Hideaways, the property was once the home of the Queen’s head gardener. Prices start at £900 ($1100) for a minimum seven-night stay. That works out at just $160 or £130 a night.
A maximum of three dogs are permitted.
But if you were hoping to be able to spot Wills or Kate Middleton or other royals walking about, that likely won’t happen. This King Charles’ home is officially part of Sandringham Estate, but the royal residence itself is actually private land. It’s also a short walk or drive away, and not exactly next door. The huge land boundary begins on the opposite side of the road. Due to strict security protocol, you’re not permitted to go walking through there, either.

Llwynywermod Estate
