Meghan Markle’s role as Prince Harry’s wife has been questioned by some, but a TV personality has now dubbed a Hollywood actress as “the worst wife”, instead of the Duchess Of Sussex.

Since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s 2018 marriage, the public has formed their own stand on what led the couple to quit their roles as senior royals. The Duke packed up his life in the UK to join Meghan stateside. Dubbed Megxit, the British media portrayed the move to be solely Markle’s doing, but their Netflix documentary dived deep into Harry’s explanations, citing safety issues. In 2023, the media scrutiny has not subsided, but another Hollywood star has earned a worse reputation in recent days.

Jada Pinkett Smith steals Meghan Markle’s ‘worst wife’ crown, says news anchor

On October 17, Sky News Australia anchor Rita Panahi weighed in on Jada Pinkett Smith’s recent relationship confessions.

“Meghan Markle’s crown as the worst wife possibly has been seized by Jada Pinkett Smith as the woman who not only humiliated Will Smith by having a sexual relationship with her son’s best mate,” she told viewers. “But she then made him explore that humiliation in a podcast,” Panahi said in reference to the Smiths’ 2020 Red Table Talk episode.

Panahi went on to show disapproval of the Matrix actress’ recent Today Show interview, during which she admitted her shock of being called “my wife” by Will during the infamous Oscars 2022 slap. The Sky News host titled the segment as “The Delusion of Jada Pinkett Smith”.

Her guest of the day, right-wing comedian Alex Stein accused the actress of using the “old Hollywood playbook of being the victim,” before calling her Red Table Talk interview “so disrespectful”.

What did Jada Pinkett Smith say about Will?

According to Jada, she and Smith have been separated and have lived “completely separate lives” since 2016, nearly two decades after they married in 1997.

Talking to Hoda Kotb in a candid interview ahead of her new memoir, the Magic Mike XXL star confessed that they are still legally married as they made a promise that “there will never be a reason for us to get a divorce.” This meant that one of Hollywood’s longest-reigning couples had already separated during the Oscars, which saw Will defend his wife from Chris Rock’s GI Jane joke.

As Jada said, she and her husband hadn’t labeled each other as spouses for a long time. But after he stormed the stage, she “knew at that moment she was leaving as his wife, and she was gonna stand by his side no matter what.”

The 52-year-old admitted that she didn’t attend the award ceremony “necessarily as Will’s wife”.
