It was even reported the Princess of Wales made a ‘dig’ towards the Duchess. Sources claimed Kate Middleton used fashion to send a message at her Together at Christmas Carol Service.
In their Netflix documentary, Meghan Markle spoke on many things she claimed she wasn’t able to do in her time in The Firm. The former actress claimed she was limited as a working royal. Although the family or the palace never commented on the TV doc or Spare, they may have sent a few signs.
Kate’s ‘subtle dig’ towards Meghan was shut down
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s documentary was released on December 8. But a week later, on December 15, Kate Middleton held her Together at Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey.
At the event, the royal family united with King Charles to put on a front. Experts claimed the royals coming together was to show solidarity against “allegations” made by the couple on the streaming service Netflix.
It was also noticed most of the female family members wore matching burgundy coats, reported by the Daily Mail as a “dig” towards Meghan. It came after she said she wasn’t allowed to wear bright colors while in The Firm.
However, Omid Scobie, who recently released his controversial book, Endgame, reveals a palace source told him that the claim it was a dig was “ridiculous”.
In the doc, the former Suits actress said she tried to “tone down” her outfits by wearing beige and white to ensure she didn’t overshadow anyone.
Meghan also claimed she shouldn’t be wearing the same color as a more senior member of the family.
“Until that last week in the UK, I rarely wore color and I never wanted to upstage or ruffle any feathers, so I just tried to blend in,” she claimed.
King Charles was ‘overshadowed’ by Harry and Meghan’s doc
Although Meg and Harry had dropped a bombshell, available to stream around the world, their family had to carry on with their duties as if nothing happened.
A day after the Christmas Carol event, King Charles attended an anti-hate crime meeting at the Jewish Security Trust in northwest London, before attending a nearby Jewish community center that “serves all faiths”.
The King met several Holocaust survivors, including Anne Frank’s stepsister, Eva Schloss. Scobie claims the day should have been a big day for Queen Elizabeth II’s eldest, stepping up to his role as a monarch.
However, he claims due to the fallout of Harry and Meghan’s doc, few even noticed. And he’s not the only senior member who the author claims was “overshadowed” by the Sussexes.
The book also claims Netflix dropped the trailer of the documentary on the same day as Prince William‘s high profile Earthshot Prize Ceremony, in attempts to overshadow him.
GRV Media and Celebrity Tidbit have contacted Netflix for comment.
