Prince Harry is at risk of being stuck under Meghan Markle’s thumb, a royal expert has savagely claimed.

The author, who spent several months following the prince in his younger years for her biography Harry: Conversations with a Prince, had a lot to say about the Sussexes. The royal expert was discussing the recent abdication of Denmark’s Queen Margrethe II from her New Year message. The conversation turned to Prince Harry and his wife, who moved to California almost four years ago. She can’t see any reconciliation between the Duke and Duchess and The Firm, unless Meghan Markle receives an apology – something the couple have requested.

Prince Harry is stuck ‘under Meghan Markle’s thumb’ so won’t return to the UK

When speaking on Sky News Australia, Angela Levin delved into the idea of whether the dad-of-two would ever come back to Britain.

The couple moved to their Montecito mansion in late 2020 with son Archie. They later welcomed daughter Lilibet, who was named after his grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth II.

“There’s making a few complaints but then [Harry and Meghan] go on and on about it,” she claimed over Harry and Meghan’s repeated opportunities of airing the royal family’s dirty laundry. The expert doesn’t believe the pair will get over their allegations of how they were treated by the palace.

Levin, who spent 15 months speaking to Harry for her biography, claimed “he has changed.”

When asked if King Charles‘ youngest son would return, she explained: “First of all, he has got to apologize hugely, he has got to compromise, and he won’t compromise.

“He keeps saying the King and Prince William to apologize for things going back to childhood… and for how he was dealt with.”

She added: “If you want to bring back a family argument, you have to spend time. He can’t rush [back to the UK], it takes weeks, months even. But he, of course, is very much under Meghan’s thumb. He will listen to what she says.”

Harry’s solo trips without Meghan by his side

Meghan Markle’s absence during official events Harry has attended first sparked headlines last summer.

The repeated instances where he would fly the thousands of miles back to his homeland, on his own, sparked an ‘awkward atmosphere’.

The former TV star hasn’t returned to Britain since Queen Elizabeth II‘s death in September 2022. The couple had been in the country for the WellChild Awards ceremony, which they had to decline after her health took a turn for the worst.

The mom-of-two supported her husband during the funeral, and even joined up with Kate Middleton and William on a walkabout to thank fans for their floral tributes and condolences. However, another royal author, Omid Scobie, recently claimed this was staged as a photo opportunity.

Harry attended the WellChild event last year, without Meghan, before setting off to Germany for the Invictus Games. Meghan was billed to make an appearance for the opening, but instead showed up days later covered in $40k of glam.

The Suits star also didn’t come back to celebrate King Charles’ Coronation in May. She also didn’t make the trip when he returned to testify against Mirror Group Newspapers in a civil case – part of the several court cases he has filed since leaving the royal family.

Both of the royals also didn’t attend the Trooping The Colour event this year. The day is an unofficial birthday of the monarch, celebrating the throne, and often sees the royal family address fans on the famous Buckingham Palace balcony.
