Members of the royal family will gather at Sandringham this Christmas as King Charles hosts the festivities.

However, some royals won’t be in attendance. Prince William, Kate and their three children are expected to join in the celebrations.

But let’s see which members of the family won’t be arriving at Sandringham next week.

Royal family to spend Christmas at Sandringham

King Charles, Queen Camilla, the Prince and Princess of Wales and their kids will reportedly spend Christmas on the Sandringham estate.

According to reports, the king will host more than 40 family members this festive period. Camilla’s son, Tom Parker Bowles, will apparently join the festivities this year.

However, there will be some royals missing it seems. Prince Andrew and his daughters – Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie – won’t be at Sandringham, according to reports.

Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson to ‘miss’ Christmas at Sandringham

Sources claim that the Duke of York will “honourably withdraw” from royal family events at Christmas. It’s to avoid him being a distraction.

Instead, he’ll reportedly stay at his home of Royal Lodge in Windsor. It comes after he made headlines due to his association with an alleged ‘Chinese spy’. Yang Tengbo was banned from entering the UK in 2023, but has denied being a spy.

She has lots of friends and family and would want to be with them.

Prince Andrew‘s office recently said he “ceased all contact” with the Chinese businessman following “advice” from officials.

Meanwhile, he also insisted they never discussed anything of a “sensitive nature”.

Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson will also apparently spend Christmas in Windsor. However, according to royal commentator Ingrid Seward, Fergie “has lots of friends and family” who she could spend time with.

Ingrid told The Telegraph: “She has lots of friends and family and would want to be with them. Andrew possibly wouldn’t mind. He would sit there in front of the TV, but Sarah would organise something with Beatrice.”

Beatrice is married to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. The couple have daughter Sienna, three, and are expecting their second child in the spring of 2025.

Meanwhile, Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank have sons August, three, and Ernest, one.

According to PEOPLE, Beatrice and Eugenie had invitations to spend Christmas with their respective in-laws some time ago.

Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle haven’t spent Christmas with the royals in many years since they moved overseas.

They moved to America after they stepped back from their senior royal roles in early 2020.

Although no plans have been confirmed, it’s believed Harry and Meghan will spend Christmas with their children – Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, – in California.

Former royal butler Paul Burrell said of Harry and Meghan on behalf of Spin Genie: “They haven’t been invited this year, so they won’t be attending.

“I cannot foresee any situation where Harry and Meghan would come back into the royal family and spend Christmas. It’s a bed they’ve made and now they have to lie in it.”
