Prince Harry and Meghan warned of ‘disaster’ in 2025

Royal author Richard Fitzwilliams has told MailOnline: “If their multimillion-dollar Netflix deal is not extended this year, it would be a disaster for them.”

Harry, 40, and Meghan signed their Netflix deal in 2020. The deal was said to be worth $100million (around £80m).

The couple have released four projects since their deal started. However, they reportedly only signed a five-year deal.

Now, with the fifth year beginning, will Netflix continue its partnership with the royal couple?

Meghan Markle returns to Instagram with beach video

The Duchess of Sussex has made a big start to 2025 by launching her new Instagram account.

According to a spokesperson for Meghan, she wants to use her new Instagram account to share updates on her work and personal life.

She will be looking at 2025 as the year she reinvents herself and owns who she is.

They added: “While there is still work to be done, she feels confident that by returning to Instagram, she can amplify the progress made so far and lead by example in demonstrating the potential for social media to bring joy and positive connection.”

Brand and culture expert Nick Ede has shared his thoughts on the launch, saying Meghan is ‘reinventing’ herself.

He told the MailOnline: “Meghan has returned to social media, and this is a great way of authoring her truth.

“She will be looking at 2025 as the year she reinvents herself and owns who she is. Using social media as a platform to express her personality and own her narrative is a positive step for her.”

He added: “She’s using her platform like a social media star would, and this is where she belongs. She’s one of many who have a platform and can create content and make money.”

Elsewhere, body language expert Darren Stanton has shared his thoughts on the beach video Meghan shared.

Meghan marking a ‘fresh start’ with Instagram video

In the black and white video, filmed by Prince Harry, Meghan ran towards the ocean barefoot. Marking the new year, she then draws “2025” in the sand before smiling at the camera.

Speaking on behalf of Betfair Slots, Darren said of the duchess: “Apart from the obvious, the detail of writing the new year in the sand, the fact she’s wearing loose fitting white clothing on the beach is significant, coupled with her being by the ocean, this image is her saying non verbally, this marks a fresh start for me.

“White is a colour of inner strength and peace. Not so much being a fresh start without Harry but she’s marking new beginnings, and wants to signal she will be more publicly independent.”
