Meghan Markle has made a surprise return to Instagram with a beautifully shot video to mark the new year.

On New Year’s Day, the Duchess of Sussex posted a black and white video of herself running barefoot on a beach. She and husband Prince Harry live in California with their two children – Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three.

Harry, 40, filmed the video of Meghan which was shot near their home in Montecito. However, some fans spotted an apparent blunder in the clip.

Ringing in the new year, Meghan, 43, ran towards the ocean barefoot as she was dressed in all white.

She then draws “2025” in the sand before smiling at the camera. All that could be heard in the video was the sound of the waves lapping against the shore.

No caption was added to the post either. At the time of writing, Meghan’s account has 690k followers.

However, some people have spotted a blunder in the video. Some think Meghan had already tried to write out “2025” in a first attempt.

As Meghan ran across the sand to write her second “2025,” the first attempt was seen.

One person said on X: “You can also see her previous attempt in the sand as she runs past in an attempt to get it more Instagram-perfect.”

Another wrote: “Looks like someone was practicing!”

A third added: “How many times did she practice? Still another [2025] on the beach.”

Meghan is no stranger to social media. Before meeting Harry and marrying into the royal family, the duchess had a blossoming Instagram account.

She kept her followers updated with her acting work and personal life. She also ran a lifestyle blog called The Tig. However, her social media accounts and blog shut down when she began dating Prince Harry.

The couple then had an official royal account which kept fans updated on their engagements, tours and personal news including the birth of their son Archie in May 2019.
