All the ways Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have shut down divorce rumours - from his clapback to 'clue' in Instagram return
The couple tied the knot in 2018Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are no strangers to being at the centre of speculation – especially about their relationship – and divorce rumours have plagued them recently.
Recently, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex found themselves in speculation that their marriage was heading for divorce.
The couple married in May 2018 and have two children together – son Prince Archie, five, and daughter Princess Lilibet, three.
But, Harry himself shut down the rumours and the couple has given a few clues they’re doing just fine! Let’s take a look.
Prince Harry breaks silence on Meghan Markle divorce rumours
After some separate public appearances, reports began speculating whether Harry, 40, and Meghan, 43, were heading for a divorce six years after they tied the knot.
However, in early December, Prince Harry shut down those claims at the New York Times’ 2024 DealBook Summit.
We’ve apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it’s just like, what?
He said, according to People: “Apparently we’ve bought or moved house 10, 12 times. We’ve apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it’s just like, what?”
Harry added: “It’s hard to keep up with, but that’s why you just sort of ignore it.”
Harry and Meghan’s Christmas 2024 card
In another show of unity, the couple released their 2024 Christmas card later in December.
The card featured a series of different images showing their highlights from the past year. In one photo, fans were able to get a glimpse of their kids as they enjoyed family time.
The card read: “On behalf of the office of Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Archewell Productions and Archewell Foundations.
“We wish you a very Happy Holiday Season and a joyful new year.”
Meghan Markle dropped relationship ‘clue’ in Instagram return
Elsewhere, on New Year’s Day, Meghan made a shock return to Instagram with a black and white beach video.
Harry filmed the video of Meghan which was shot near their home in Montecito.
Celebrating the new year, the duchess ran towards the ocean barefoot as she was dressed in all white.
She then draws “2025” in the sand before smiling at the camera. According to body language expert Judi James, Meghan dropped a clue about her marriage with Harry in the video.

Judi told the Mirror: “Well, it looks like a very confident but playful Meghan is re-opening that Pandora’s box that is social media here, posting an enigmatic little video that is more celebrity in mood than royal.
“The body language appears pinned on the person holding the camera here, as doing smiling zoomies down a beach would normally imply a desire to be chased. There’s even the ‘clue’ of those huge footprints in the wet sand to match up with Harry’s feet, so the undercurrent story seems to be that the romance is still alive in the Montecito household.”
Those divorce rumours can be put to bed now it seems!
