Meghan has recently launched a solo Instagram accountPrince Harry and Meghan Markle have been making moves which have fuelled speculation they’re ‘professionally separating’ with their projects.
Since stepping back from royal duties in 2020, the couple have built a new life for themselves in California. They’ve released projects with Netflix and Spotify and Harry has published a tell-all memoir.
More recently, Meghan, 43, made a return to Instagram and her new Netflix lifestyle show will air on January 15. So, how is 2025 looking for the couple professionally? Here’s all the clues that show they might not be doing everything in the future as a team…
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry ‘professionally separating’ with work projects
In November 2024, a body language expert weighed in on Harry and Meghan’s work relationship. Judi James said that the couple could be “separating into two individuals moving into two rather separate professional directions”.
Since then, though, fans have been shown a professional parting of the ways.
She told the Mirror: “Harry and Meghan’s relationship seems to have evolved from a totally twinned one, where their body language was confined to appearances as a matching, complimentary and very royal-looking double act, to one that resembles the shape of a letter Y; joined and twinned at the base but also separating into two individuals moving into two rather separate professional directions.”
Harry and Meghan made solo visits in 2024
On a few occasions across 2024, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made solo visits. While Harry made visits to New York, the UK and South Africa, Meghan attended some charity events including the 2024 Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Gala in October.
Elsewhere in November, Prince Harry visited Canada to promote the 2025 Invictus Games. He launched the games in 2014. The 2025 games will take place in Vancouver in February.
These solo visits are just one way the pair are professionally separating and embarking on projects alone.
Speaking in December 2024, Judi told the Mirror that the couple started off 2024 with tours together. However, as the year came to the end, the pair were embarking on solo visits.

She explained: “The year did start well in body language terms, with two ‘royal’ tours that saw the glittering couple looking tactile and bonded and even one rather passionate kissing display during a salsa class that kept their branding as both a professional and a romantic duo very much alive.
“Since then, though, fans have been shown a professional parting of the ways that appears to have been building slowly but carefully recently.”
Judi added: “Working apart does seem to show up some differences in their approach, too. Harry has been seen looking relaxed and playful, immersing himself in those conversation with young children he is so good at or turning on the performer charm doing comic turns on TV shows.”

Meghan Markle’s solo Instagram return
Most recently, Meghan returned to social media with her new Instagram account. At the time of writing, it’s racked up over one million followers. She used the account to promote her new lifestyle show – With Love, Meghan. It premieres on January 15 on Netflix.
This is another sign that the couple is moving away from each other in the professional world.
Ingrid Seward, a royal commentator and author, has told The Sun of Meghan’s social media return: “It’s nothing to do with her and the children or her and Harry – it’s just her.
“I think it’s all about Meghan – ‘I’ve done my mothering bit. You’re not going to see my kids,’ you know. She’s been very, very careful to keep them out of camera range, and it’s her. And I think she needs to do this, because, she hasn’t had a good year press wise in 2024, and she needs to.”
