Inside Prince William's 'plans' for Princess Kate's 43rd birthday this week
The Princess of Wales had a tough 2024 amid her cancer battlePrincess Kate has reason to celebrate this week as she’ll mark her 43rd birthday – but how will Prince William surprise her?
The Princess of Wales had a tough 2024 after being diagnosed and treated for cancer. But in September of last year, Kate announced she had completed her chemotherapy and was focusing on staying cancer-free.
Now with her 43rd birthday approaching on January 9, some royal experts have weighed in on how they think the princess could spend the day.

Princess Kate to celebrate 43rd birthday on January 9
According to reports, Kate could be planning small and intimate celebrations with her family.
Speaking to OK!, royal commentator Jennie Bond said that this birthday will be “memorable” for Kate in “so many ways”.
She continued: “It will mark the start of a new and hopefully happier year, and the end of one that has been brutal for the whole family.
“While some women might find the prospect of turning 43 a bit daunting, Catherine will, I am sure, be delighted that she is able to enjoy her birthday in comparatively good health, though of course she is still recovering.
“Every day must now be extra precious for the princess and every birthday a cause for grateful celebration.”

Prince William to ‘spoil’ Kate on her birthday
Jennie said that Kate will be “spoiled” by hubby William and their three children – Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six.
Every day must now be extra precious for the princess and every birthday a cause for grateful celebration.
She said she thinks they will “shower her with gifts” including “pampering products like luxurious bath oils and scented candles”.
Jennie suggested that the Prince of Wales could buy Kate some “silk pyjamas” or “cashmere jumpers”.

Princess Kate being ‘careful’ over birthday plans
Elsewhere, another royal commentator has suggested that Kate and William are being “careful” over their plans this year, including Kate’s birthday, following her cancer battle.
Richard Fitzwilliams told GB News: “If you look at Kensington Palace and the way they handled this. They’ve been very careful. We have absolutely no idea the way she will celebrate her birthday.
“There have been meetings we know she’s participated in, but they’ve been very very careful firstly not to give to much notice of this, and secondly not to commit themselves to anything.
“I’m sure [we] will see more of her, but there have been no dates or indications given, so I do think we have to be careful.”

Last year, Prince William praised his wife and his father King Charles amid their cancer battles. The king is still undergoing cancer treatment following his diagnosis in February 2024.
Speaking during a solo visit to South Africa, William admitted: “It’s probably been the hardest year in my life.
