In pictures: 8 times royal children have thrown tantrums in public - Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte to Lena Tindall
Just because they're royals, doesn't mean they don't throw a strop!Just like any other kid, the royal children are prone to tantrums and many have been caught on camera.
However, the difference is that they have millions of eyes on them. There’s an expectation that the royal children behave at all times. But, that’s not the case.
From Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte to Mia Tindall, here’s the royal kids who have threw a strop in public.

1. Royal children throwing tantrums – Prince Louis at platinum jubilee 2022
Prince Louis, six, made headlines in 2022 during the late Queen Elizabeth II‘s platinum jubilee celebrations.
The youngest child of the Prince and Princess of Wales, Louis has often been referred to as their most mischievous child.
But during the platinum jubilee pageant, Louis shushed mum Kate as she appeared to be giving him a talking to.
He also stuck his tongue out at her. The moment, of course, was captured on camera and went viral on social media. At one point, Mike Tindall – who is married to Princess Anne’s daughter Zara – gave Louis a playful warning gesture.

2. Princess Charlotte’s tantrum in 2017
During Prince William and Kate‘s tour of Germany in 2017, their daughter Princess Charlotte – then two – threw a tantrum as they toured the Airbus training facilities in Hamburg.
Little Charlotte was seen crying as Kate tried to soothe her.
Kate was seen knelt down beside her trying to sort it out. But Charlotte, who is now nine, refused to walk and sat down on the ground so Kate had to lift her.

3. Mia Tindall threw a tantrum at polo match in 2016
During a charity polo match in 2016, Zara and Mike Tindall’s daughter Mia threw a right royal tantrum as her mum tried to calm her down.
Members of the royal family were at the Beaufort Polo Club for the event. But it wasn’t long before Mia was having a meltdown, leading to Zara stepping in.
But it was Prince Harry – Zara’s cousin – to the rescue as he tried to cheer Mia up by blowing raspberries on her neck.

4. Prince George’s tantrum at International Air Tattoo
In 2016, Prince George – then almost three – joined his parents at the International Air Tattoo for an engagement.
But only a few moments in and he got overwhelmed by the noise. It led to him having a very public meltdown which caused Kate to lift him and put headphones on him.
Then in no time, he was back to normal.

5. Princess Charlotte’s tears at Trooping the Colour
Elsewhere, during Trooping the Colour – the monarch’s official birthday parade – in 2018, Princess Charlotte was left in tears.
She appeared to stumble on the Buckingham Palace balcony and became tearful.
Her mum Kate was then seen picking her up to comfort her.

6. Royal children having tantrums – Lena Tindall misbehaving at Cheltenham races
Zara and Mike’s middle child, daughter Lena, had them both trying to keep her entertained at the Cheltenham races in 2023.
Little Lena mimicked Prince Louis with her facial expressions as Zara tried to talk to her.
7. Prince William’s tantrum in 1986 video with Harry and Diana
In old footage from 1986, a young Prince William threw a strop as he played with brother Harry.
The brothers were enjoying a playground as mum Princess Diana watched on. However, at one point, William refused to leave the playground – something majority of parents have probably dealt with.
But Diana, holding Harry, said: “Alright, Harry will have all the fun then.”
It prompted William to get out of his strop and join them as he shouted: “No, no, no!”

8. Princess Beatrice’s tantrum on palace balcony in 1990
Back in 1990, a young Princess Beatrice caused a scene as she tried to grab mum Sarah Ferguson’s hat as the royal family gathered.
Beatrice was seen trying to get the hat off Sarah’s head, as her mum moved away. At one point, Princess Diana even stepped in and stopped Beatrice from pulling the hat off!
