The royals are a symbol of Britain all over the world – but do you know every member of the monarchy in the royal family tree?
In this article, we’ll look at the royal family tree from the late Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip down to the youngest members of the monarchy.

Royal family tree – Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip
Queen Elizabeth II was born in April 1926 to King George VI and Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. She had a younger sister, Princess Margaret.
She became queen at 25 following the death of her father in February 1952.
Queen Elizabeth II married Prince Philip in 1947 and became the longest-serving monarch in British history, reigning for 70 years.
Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, died on April 9, 2021, aged 99. The queen died on September 8, 2022, at the age of 96.
The couple had four children – King Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward. Let’s take a look at their families below.

King Charles III
King Charles III became monarch on September 8, 2022. As Prince of Wales, he dedicated decades to philanthropic work and founded more than 20 charities, including The Prince’s Trust – now called The King’s Trust.
Charles married Camilla Parker-Bowles in 2005 after his first marriage to Princess Diana officially ended in 1996. They had split earlier in 1992.
The king had two children with Diana – sons Prince William and Prince Harry. Below is more info on their families.

Prince William
Prince William was born on June 21, 1982, to the then Prince Charles and Princess Diana. He is their eldest son and the current heir to the throne.
Following his father’s accession to the throne, William became the Prince of Wales. He is married to Kate, Princess of Wales. She was known as Kate Middleton before their marriage in 2011.
The Prince and Princess of Wales have three children – Prince George, born in July 2013, Princess Charlotte, born in May 2015, and Prince Louis, born in April 2018.

Royal family tree – Prince Harry
Prince Harry is the youngest son of Charles and Diana. He was born on September 15, 1984.
After stepping back from senior royal duties in 2020, he moved to the United States with his wife, Meghan Markle.
American-born Meghan was an actress before marrying Prince Harry in 2018. She has since used her platform to advocate for gender equality, mental health awareness, and social justice.
The couple have two children – son Prince Archie, born in May 2019, and daughter Princess Lilibet, born in June 2021.

Princess Anne
Anne, Princess Royal, is the second eldest child of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.
She was born on August 15, 1950. Anne married her first husband, Mark Phillips, in 1973 before divorcing in 1992.
They have two children together – Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall. Neither of them have royal titles – something Anne denied when they were born.
In 1992, Anne married her second husband Sir Timothy Laurence. They have no children together and remain married.

Peter Phillips
The eldest child of Princess Anne and Mark Phillips is Peter Phillips – Queen Elizabeth II’s eldest grandchild.
Peter was born on November 15, 1977. He married his ex-wife Autumn Phillips in 2008. However, they finalised their divorce in 2021.
They have two children together – Savannah Phillips, born in December 2010 and Queen Elizabeth II’s first great-grandchild, and Isla Phillips, born in March 2012.

Zara Tindall
Zara Tindall is the youngest child of Princess Anne and Mark Phillips. She was born on May 15, 1981.
She married her husband, rugby star Mike Tindall, in 2011.
The couple have three children together – daughter Mia, born in January 2014, daughter Lena, born in June 2018, and son Lucas, born in March 2021.

Prince Andrew
Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip’s third child is Prince Andrew, Duke of York.
Andrew was born on February 19, 1960. He stepped back from royal duties in 2019, following his alleged association with late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The Duke of York married Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, in 1986. However, they divorced in 1996.
They have two daughters – Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

Princess Beatrice
Princess Beatrice is the eldest child of the Duke and Duchess of York.
She was born on August 8, 1988.
Beatrice married her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in 2020. They have one child together – daughter Sienna, born in September 2021.
They are expecting their second child together in early 2025.

Royal family tree – Princess Eugenie
The second child of Prince Andrew and Sarah is Princess Eugenie. Eugenie was born on March 23, 1990.
She married her husband Jack Brooksbank in October 2018.
The couple have two children together – sons August, born in February 2021, and Ernest, born in May 2023.

Prince Edward
Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip’s youngest child is Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh.
He was born March 10, 1964.
He married his wife Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, in 1999. They have two children together – Lady Louise Windsor, born in November 2003, and James, Earl of Wessex, born in December 2007.
