Princess Kate 'will never be friends' with Meghan Markle despite her 'worry' for William and Harry's relationship

Kate and Meghan’s relationship has become strained over the years. Meghan, 43, and Harry, 40, stepped away from royal life and their senior roles in 2020. They now live in the US.
They’ve made a string of damning allegations against the royals and therefore have become distant from the family. William, 42, and Harry’s relationship is said to be fractured, maybe beyond repair.
But it seems Kate, 42, wants to try and mend the rift and bring them back together, a source has claimed.

Speaking to Closer, the insider allegedly said: “With all the water under the bridge and everything she’s been through this past year, she’s come to a place where she wants peace in every aspect of her life.
“Not just for herself, but for the sake of William and Harry. She’s very worried about what this long-running feud is doing to the both of them.”
A second source added: “This isn’t so much about wanting to be friends with Meghan – that’s never going to happen.”
They went on to claim that a lot of people “still think Kate would be justified to hang onto a grudge after the way Meghan has behaved”. However, she has “no interest” in doing that.
The source added that although there were “hurt feelings a while ago,” Kate is “ready to let it go”.
Royal Insider has contacted reps for Kate for comment.
Meghan and Kate’s fallout
When Meghan began dating Harry in late 2016 and then became engaged in 2017, she appeared to share a close bond with Kate. Reports at the time claimed that the pair bonded over royal life.
However, in the months leading up to the wedding, Meghan and Kate reportedly fell out over bridesmaid dresses.
She’s very worried about what this long-running feud is doing to the both of them.
Months after their May wedding day, rumours of a feud began surfacing. In late 2018, reports claimed that Meghan had left Kate in tears in the lead-up to the nuptials.
It was apparently over Kate’s daughter Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress not fitting properly.

In her and Harry’s 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan addressed the reports and insisted she was the one left in tears.
Meghan said at the time: “A few days before the wedding, she was upset about something pertaining to flower girl dresses. And it made me cry.”
She claimed that Kate ended up apologising and sending her flowers.
Then in early 2023, Prince Harry released his tell-all memoir Spare. In it, he alleged that he and William got into a physical altercation over Meghan.
Harry claimed that the Prince of Wales “grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor”.
Harry and Meghan’s message of support to Kate after cancer diagnosis
It’s said that William and Harry’s relationship is beyond repair, and Meghan and Kate have seemingly drifted apart too.
However, in March 2024, Harry and Meghan spoke out to support Kate as she shared her cancer diagnosis.

They said: “We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace.”
