The Princess of Wales turns 43 on January 9. Kate has had a tough past year after being diagnosed with cancer and having to undergo treatment. In September 2024, she announced she had completed her treatment.
To mark her birthday on Thursday, the Prince of Wales, 42, shared a personal message on the couple’s joint social media pages.

Alongside a stunning black and white photo of Kate, taken by photographer Matt Porteous, William gushed over her being an “incredible wife and mother”.
He wrote: “To the most incredible wife and mother. The strength you’ve shown over the last year has been remarkable.

“George, Charlotte, Louis and I are so proud of you. Happy Birthday, Catherine. We love you. W.”
Royal fans gushed over the post, with many wishing Kate a happy birthday.
One person said: “Awww what a beautiful message and picture.”
Another wrote: “I’m not crying, you are. What a sweet and heartwarming message. Happy birthday, princess.”
A third added: “Happy birthday Catherine. May you have health and happiness throughout your year. You are truly a role model.”
Meanwhile, a fourth person commented: “This is everything. What a beautiful heartfelt message. Happy birthday to the Princess of Wales.”
So how will the Princess of Wales celebrate her birthday today? According to a royal commentator, Kate could choose to spend the day “quietly” with her family.
Richard Fitzwilliams told Royal Insider: “This really is a pivotal birthday. A year ago it was on the eve of her abdominal surgery and she would have probably felt uncomfortable.

“We saw, in that moving video she released to tell us she was cancer free in September, how close she and William are and they will undoubtedly spend some precious time together on this very special day..
“I would expect this to be a quiet day with the family.”
The past year has been tough for Kate, having battled cancer. In September of last year, she announced the end of her treatment.
She told fans, alongside a family video from their summer break: “This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved.”
