'Simple' photo tipped to be released for Princess Kate's 43rd birthday as she spends 'quiet day' with William and kids
A royal expert has shared some details with us...Princess Kate is celebrating her 43rd birthday today and she could spend the occasion ‘quietly’ with her family, a royal commentator has said.
The Princess of Wales faced a tough 2024 following her cancer diagnosis and course of treatment. She announced in September of last year that she had completed her treatment and was focusing on staying cancer-free.
Today (January 9) marks Kate’s 43rd birthday and it’s predicted a photo of the princess could be released to mark the occasion.

Princess Kate could spend 43rd birthday ‘quietly’ with family
Speaking exclusively to Royal Insider, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams has said this is a “pivotal birthday” for the princess.
He said: “This really is a pivotal birthday. A year ago it was on the eve of her abdominal surgery and she would have probably felt uncomfortable.
This year, if we do have a photo, I’d expect it to be a simple one.
“We saw, in that moving video she released to tell us she was cancer free in September, how close she and William are and they will undoubtedly spend some precious time together on this very special day..
“I would expect this to be a quiet day with the family.”

‘Simple photo’ of Kate could be released to mark her birthday
Meanwhile, Richard said a picture could be released to mark Kate’s big day.
He touched on the “bizarre media frenzy” over Kate’s missing appearance in early 2024 before she revealed her cancer diagnosis. There were many theories about her whereabouts after she had last been since on Christmas Day 2023.
The princess then sparked some backlash in March 2024 after releasing an edited family photo on Mother’s Day.
Richard told us: “The bizarre media frenzy over her non-appearance for over two months early last year was heightened by her mistake of touching up a Mother’s Day photograph featuring her with the children, which was taken by William and released officially.
“Kate is a keen amateur photographer and also is clearly looking forward not back, as she is recovering. I’d bet on the release of a photo to mark the occasion.”
He added: “When she turned 40, three superb and spectacular portraits of her by Paolo Roversi were released. This year, if we do have a photo, I’d expect it to be a simple one.
“Overall, the message is that she is looking to the future with care but with confidence. We all wish her well.”

Kate on ‘incredibly tough’ cancer battle
Around her birthday last year, Kate underwent abdominal surgery. She then announced her cancer diagnosis in March and began treatment.
As she announced the end of her treatment in September 2024, Kate reflected on the “incredibly tough” time for them as a family.
She said: “This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved.”
