Mike and Zara Tindall’s son Lucas tipped for Easter appearance after amusing antics at the races
Lucas is rarely seen at royal events
Lucas Tindall, the youngest child and only son of Mike and Zara Tindall, captured the public’s attention following his charming antics at Cheltenham Racecourse on New Year’s Day.
Lucas, three, was spotted cheering enthusiastically for the horses, snacking on sweets, and swinging playfully on a railing during the annual event.
These endearing moments have sparked speculation that Lucas could make his official royal debut later this year.

Mike and Zara Tindall’s son Lucas could make royal debut
Lucas will celebrate his fourth birthday on March 21. This milestone has traditionally marked the start of formal royal engagements for young members of the family.
According to Hello! magazine, his debut could coincide with the Easter church service in Windsor.
Royal precedent supports this theory.
Prince Louis, the youngest son of the Prince and Princess of Wales, attended his first Easter service in 2023 at the age of four. Similarly, Prince William made his Easter debut at the same age in 1986.

Lucas Tindall’s royal appearances
Lucas’s ability to charm a crowd has already been proven during his recent public outings.
In addition to his New Year’s Day antics, the young royal amused onlookers at the Burghley Horse Trials in Lincolnshire last September.
One particularly memorable moment saw him attempting to pull his sister Lena off a crate, much to the amusement of his father, Mike.
Mike and Zara have allowed their children to enjoy a relatively normal upbringing despite their royal ties.
Lucas holds a unique position within the royal family.
As the grandson of Princess Anne, he is 24th in line to the throne. However, he does not bear a royal title. This decision was made by Anne for her own children, Zara and Peter Phillips, to ensure they could lead less restricted lives.
While his lack of a title distinguishes Lucas from some of his royal cousins, it has not diminished public interest in his life.

Mike Tindall and Prince William’s close bond
Meanwhile, Prince William has reportedly grown closer to Mike in recent years.
Their bond has deepened amid William’s reported fallout with brother Prince Harry. Insiders have claimed that Mike has become like a brother to the Prince of Wales.
“Mike’s become a key figure in William’s world and someone he can always rely on,” a royal insider told Woman’s Day.
“There’s no doubt Wills sees him as the brother he lost. He’s proven how loyal he is, and Wills knows Mike has his back.”

Their camaraderie was on full display during Mike’s 2023 appearance on Rob Burrow’s podcast, where he jokingly nicknamed William “One Pint Willy”.
“He’s not the best of drinkers,” the former rugby star teased. Mike quickly added: “Oh my God. It’s out there now. Sorry, sir.”
Mike’s presence has been a source of support for William, especially in the wake of Harry’s departure from royal duties in 2020.
