Prince William is the current heir to the throne. His father King Charles, 76, became monarch when his mother Queen Elizabeth II died in September 2022.
Mike, 46, and Zara, 43, aren’t senior members of the royal family, but are often seen at events throughout the year. They also both do charitable work.

According to a royal expert, the couple “will definitely agree” if Prince William was to call on them.
Jennie Bond told the Mirror: “Although they don’t have titles, they obviously have the cachet of being so much part of the extended royal family. They have managed to use that commercially without getting into too much bother.
“They are both very close to William, and if he calls on them again (as he did at a garden party last year), they will definitely agree.
“Not to an official working role, nor do I think the public would want to fund any more working royals.”

A source recently claimed that Prince William could be the “toughest” ruler the monarchy has ever seen.
They are both very close to William, and if he calls on them again, they will definitely agree.
The insider said that the king is “now bestowing more responsibility” on his eldest son following his cancer diagnosis.
Last February, King Charles announced his cancer diagnosis and is undergoing treatment. This has meant he’s had to step back from some royal duties throughout his treatment.
The insider told InTouch: “It’s no secret that anyone who pushes back against [William] will be swiftly shown the door. He’s not willing to take any nonsense and the word is he’s already on his way to being the toughest ruler the family has ever seen.
“He wants expenses to be monitored closely, and any fat trimmed straight away. He doesn’t want there to be any sense that special perks are being handed out to the royals.
“He’s all about the environment, so he’s pushing hard to be front and center in that respect and has put out this edict that the rest of the family needs to get on board with being as green as possible. Private flights and that sort of thing are being frowned on.”
