Meghan Markle postpones Netflix show release date

Earlier this week, Netflix announced that the Meghan’s new lifestyle show will now air in March.

Before the postponing, With Love, Meghan, was going to be releasing today (Wednesday, January 15). The eight-episode series showcases Meghan’s passion for lifestyle, creativity, and community.

“Produced by Meghan, With Love, Meghan blends practical how-to’s and candid conversation with friends, new and old,” the show description on Netflix Tudum reads.

“Meghan shares personal tips and tricks, embracing playfulness over perfection, and highlights how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected.”

However, because of the devastating wildfires in LA, Meghan wanted to delay the premiere. She thanked Netflix in a statement.

“I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California,” she said.

Both Meghan and husband Prince Harry have been volunteering amid the wildfires to help those impacted.

Delaying the launch of Meghan Markle’s show ‘needed to happen’

Now, an expert has weighed in on Meghan’s decision to postpone the release date of the show.

Speaking exclusively to Royal Insider, Brand and Culture expert Nick Ede stated that the decision “needed to happen”.

It would have seemed tone deaf to have aired the show.

“The move from Meghan and Netflix to change the date of her new TV show With Love, Meghan is a move that needed to happen. As a resident of California who is caught in the middle of one of the worst natural disasters they have ever experienced, it would have seemed tone deaf to have aired the show,” Nick told us.

Nick then said that as the series will show fans the life of Meghan as well as that of Montecito and LA, “it would not have been at all appropriate” to air.

Meghan ‘will benefit in long run’ from delaying series

Nick then continued.

“She’s not the only one to make sure they are being respectful and sensitive at this time – other events like the Oscar Nominations have been postponed and The Grammys are going to fundraise at this year’s event,” he then told us.

“There will always be noise surrounding the work that Meghan does so although the show is being delayed to March all eyes will be on it when it eventually airs,” Nick then continued.
