Kate, Princess of Wales, wore an eternity ring for the first solo royal engagement of 2025, according to experts.

The princess visited Royal Marsden Hospital on Tuesday for her first engagement of the year. Kate went there to thank staff for looking after her while she underwent treatment for cancer last year.

During the visit, Kate, 43, ditched her engagement ring and instead wore an “eternity” band which seemingly has a significant meaning.

The Princess of Wales looked radiant during the visit, wearing a checked coat and a burgundy two-piece.  But many noticed how she wasn’t wearing her iconic sapphire engagement ring on her finger.

She instead was wearing a band which has been named as an “eternity ring” as well as her wedding band.

The ring was reportedly given to her by husband Prince William following the birth of their son Prince George, now 11.

Leading diamond experts from UK retailer Steven Stone have explained the details behind Kate’s eternity ring.

Maxwell Stone commented: “Gifted to her by Prince William following the birth of Prince George, Kate Middleton’s eternity ring is minimalistic. Made of 18kt white gold and hand set with 0.23ct of sparkling white diamonds, it’s a timeless piece that oozes with everyday elegance.

“Kate’s eternity ring is available from Annoushka for £1,500 – an incredibly modest price tag for a royal piece.”
