Every emotional moment from Princess Kate's visit to Royal Marsden Hospital as she comforts cancer patients
Kate announced she's now in remission following her cancer treatmentKate, Princess of Wales, made a visit to Royal Marsden Hospital this week to thank staff for looking after her when she had her cancer treatment.
The princess, 43, was diagnosed with cancer last year and underwent chemotherapy. She announced the end of her treatment in September.
Now, Kate has revealed she’s in remission which she said is a “relief”. Let’s take a look into Kate’s touching hospital visit and the moments she shared with patients.

As she arrived at the hospital, Princess Kate was seen pausing outside of the entrance.
Speaking about being back at the hospital, Kate said: “I was just saying, coming in the front entrance here, having made so many quiet, private visits, actually it’s quite nice.”
It’s the first time it’s been revealed where she underwent her cancer treatment.

Elsewhere on the visit, Kate shared a comforting moment with a patient at the hospital. She was pictured hugging 57-year-old Rebecca Mendlesohn, who is on a trial for secondary cancer – breast and liver.
Kate also comforted tearful Tina Adumou, whose 19-year-old daughter is in the intensive care unit.
The princess told her: “I’m sorry. I wish there was more I could do to help. I wanted to come and show my support for the amazing work that’s going on here, and for those who are going through treatment and having such a hard time.”

Kate added: “There is light at the end of that tunnel. Very nice to meet you and best of luck. You are in the best of hands.”

Princess of Wales admits cancer treatment was ‘really tough’
Kate spoke with another woman who was undergoing chemotherapy as she opened up about her own treatment.
She said: “It’s really tough. It’s such a shock. Everyone said to me, ‘please keep a positive mindset, it makes such a difference.'”
The princess also said during the visit: “You think the treatment has finished and you can crack on and get back to normal, but that’s still a real challenge.
I’m sorry. I wish there was more I could do to help.
“The words totally disappear. And understanding that as a patient – yes, there are side effects around treatment, but actually there are more long-term side effects.”
Kate had another conversation with patient Katherine Field, 45, who was wearing a cold cap during her treatment to preserve her hair.
Gesturing to her own arm and chest as they spoke about the “port” mechanism to deliver medicine, Kate said: “I got so attached to it.”

Meanwhile, Kate was asked how she’s doing now she’s in remission.
She said she was doing well, adding: “Sometimes from the outside we all think you’ve finished treatment and you go back to things. But it’s hard to get back to normal.”

Following her visit to the hospital, Kate shared a personal message on Instagram as she announced she’s in remission.
She added: “My heartfelt thanks goes to all those who have quietly walked alongside William and me as we have navigated everything.
“We couldn’t have asked for more. The care and advice we have received throughout my time as a patient has been exceptional.”
