Rebecca is receiving treatment for secondary breast cancer. She was at the hospital this week for a check-up when she spotted Kate being given a tour.
The Princess of Wales, 43, asked if anyone in the crowd had cancer, and Rebecca came forward and had a conversation with Kate.
She was giving me the love and I was giving her the love. It felt so true.
Rebecca has said she and Kate had a “connection”. Speaking to the MailOnline, Rebecca said: “Kate walked towards me and looked at me and said: ‘Has anyone here got cancer?’
“That’s when I went very slowly putting my finger up, and said: ‘Yes, I do.’ We got talking and she asked me what I had. I told her I had secondary cancer. I said to her; ‘Kate you are an inspiration.'”

Cancer patient says Kate could tell she was ‘upset and overwhelmed’
Rebecca added: “She put her hand out and I don’t know who went to hug who first, it was mutual connection. I felt that hug. She was giving me the love and I was giving her the love. It felt so true.”
Clothes designer Rebecca said the hug was “heartfelt” and she thought “wow” as she had been feeling “a bit rubbish”.
She also said Kate could tell she was “upset and overwhelmed” as there was a “connection between us”.
Rebecca added that the Princess of Wales “has got a lot of something special about her,” before adding she’s “like Princess Diana“.
Rebecca was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020. Her treatment was successful, but the disease returned two years ago. She has undergone several rounds of chemotherapy and is now taking part in a trial of new drugs.
She said she’s “doing well with it”.
