Prince George is set for a major step in his life soon, with the future king set to move school when he turns 13 next summer.

Once the young royal turns 13, he will be moving schools – however, his parents have yet to decide which one to send him to.

What school does Prince George go to?

Over the past 18 months, Prince William and Princess Kate have reportedly been touring various schools – including their own alma mater.

George, 11, is currently studying at Lambrook Preparatory School in Berkshire.

However, when he turns 13 next summer, he will then move on to his new school.

The young prince has apparently already undertaken his first major set of entrance exams. Known as the ISEB Common Pre-tests, it commonly consists of four tests – maths, English (reading, comprehension, and grammar), verbal reasoning, and non-verbal reasoning. He took them at the end of 2023.

The royals reportedly have narrowed their list down to four schools.

Prince George’s next school when he turns 13

One school that George has long been tipped to attend is Eton College.

Eton schools boys between the ages of 13-18 and offers the option to board. It reportedly costs around £63,000 per year and is where Prince William and Prince Harry studied.

Amongst its alumni include former Prime Ministers David Cameron and Boris Johnson.

Another option for George’s schooling is Marlborough College in Wiltshire. This school is where Kate and her siblings, Pippa and James, attended during their youth.

However, the distance between Wiltshire and Windsor would mean George would have to relocate, with an all-boys house being earmarked for the young prince.

The school apparently costs around £59k a year to attend. The school features two theatres, tennis courts, athletic fields, and a swimming pool.

Princess Eugenie attended this school, as did David Cameron’s wife, Samantha, and comedian Jack Whitehall.

George could attend two schools in London

Another option for George is Highgate School in North London.

The co-educational school teaches pupils from the age of four to 18. This means George’s siblings Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six, could attend in the future.

Speculation that the royals were considering this school was sparked when Kate was reportedly spotted on a visit there recently.

The school – which costs £26k per year – boasts a swimming pool, basketball courts, and gyms. Former cricketer Phil Tufnell used to go there.

The fourth school on the royal couple’s list is University College School Hampstead in North London.

It educates boys between the ages of 11-18 and costs £31k per year to attend. Some of its facilities include 27 acres of playing fields, a swimming pool, tennis courts, and dance studios.

Outnumbered stars Hugh Dennis and Daniel Roche are amongst its famous alumni.

Kate was reportedly spotted here on the same day that she visited Highgate School.
