Royal events happening this year as Prince William and Kate's kids 'set for appearance'

Where and when the royals will be taking centre stage in 2025...

2025 looks set to be a huge year of events for the royal family and we could see Prince William and Kate, Princess of Wales’ children getting involved in some.

However, as Kate eases back into working life after finishing her chemotherapy, her focus will remain on getting stronger. But that doesn’t mean she will be out of the limelight, as she looks set to be attending many royal events this year.

Plus, it will also be a busy year for the young royals, as they will start stepping up. 2025 could see them attend more events with their parents, based on previous appearances.

So looking at the year ahead, here are just some of the biggest royal events happening.

Royal family set to attend Commonwealth Day events in 2025

On the second Monday in March every year, Commonwealth Day is celebrated. It is a day to recognise the diversity and unity of the Commonwealth’s member states.

And each year a theme is chosen to guide the day’s events. While the 2024 theme was ‘One Resilient Common Future: Transforming Our Common Wealth,’ it is unknown what 2025’s will be.

Along with the many visitors at the events, it is a huge event for the family. The royal family usually attends the annual events.

Victory in Europe Day

Another royal family event to look out for this year is on May 8. The date marks 80 years since Victory in Europe Day.

And while no plans have been officially announced, it’s believed that events all over the UK will mark the occasion. And the royals could be in attendance.

Date for Trooping the Colour 2025

On June 14, the annual Trooping the Colour will be held in London. The event celebrates the monarch’s official birthday by bringing more than 1,400 soldiers together with 200 horses and 400 musicians.

The military tradition dates back to the 17th Century. The parade begins at Buckingham Palace and goes all the way to Horse Guards Parade.

The royal family then go on to make a balcony appearance as a flypast by the Royal Air Force takes place.

Last year, the event marked the return of Kate after her cancer diagnosis. It was the first time she had been seen since Christmas 2023. The event was also attended by her kids, Prince George, 11, Prince Louis, six, and Princess Charlotte, nine.

And if it’s the same as previous years, it seems in 2025 the kids are likely to make a huge return.

Royal Ascot 2025 dates

The five-day event of Royal Ascot is set to begin on June 17, running until June 21. Over the years, it has become a staple of Britain’s summer over the years.

The Ascot blends horse-riding with high society. And every year fans wait to see just what royal appearance will happen.

The days usually begin at 2pm, when a horse-drawn carriage will bring the royal family to their special booth.

And once again, 2025 looks set to be a highly-anticipated event.

The Highland Games

Scotland’s annual Highland Games, taking place from spring all the way to early autumn, celebrate Scottish heritage and sportsmanship.

The events include Scottish sports, music and dance. But it’s the Braemar Gathering held on September 6 that will feature appearances by the royals.

And this one is indeed the most popular Highland Game.

Princess Anne will celebrate her 75th birthday on August 15.

Although it’s not yet known how she will spend her day, it’s likely her family will shower her with love.

And perhaps as it’s a huge birthday, there may be a few celebrations to look out for.

Royal family to attend Remembrance Sunday events

On the second Sunday of each November, King Charles will lead the nation in remembering those who died in world wars and other conflicts.

In a ceremony at the Cenotaph – the focal point of the nation’s homage – the royal family will unite with thousands of other ceremonies across the UK holding a two-minute silence.

Senior members of the royal family are usually seen, including the king and queen and the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Royal family’s Christmas events

Every year the royal family hosts and attends various Christmas events.

Last year, Princess Kate hosted her annual Christmas carol service. Prince William was in attendance as well as the couple’s three children.

It’s likely she’ll do the same this year.

On December 25, the family also step out in Sandringham to attend a church service before embarking on a public walkabout to greet fans gathered.

While these are a lot of the events taking place in 2025, we expect that the family may add more to the list as the year goes on!
