Prince William has left a farmer stunned with his height during a recent royal engagement this week.

The Prince of Wales, 42, visited Lower Blakemere Farm in Hereford on Tuesday (January 28). It’s one of the Duchy of Cornwall’s seven Focus Farms.

The Duchy of Cornwall is a private estate owned by the Prince of Wales. The revenue from the estate is used to fund the public, private and charitable activities of Prince William and his family.

But it was Prince William’s height that stunned Duchy tenant farmers Heather and Phil Gorringe.

The Prince of Wales is 1.91m, which is around six foot two. However, Heather admitted she thought William was “miles taller”.

Speaking to PEOPLE, Heather said of William: “He’s such a nice guy, isn’t he? He seems really down to earth — and miles taller than I ever imagined. And he loved the worms, so that was really great.”

Prince William inherited the Duchy of Cornwall from his father King Charles when he became monarch in 2022.

Heather added: “We went to the handover between King Charles and the prince at St. James’s Palace, and it struck me that they were different in the sense that, for King Charles, farming is in his blood. He is a farmer. But, having met Prince William on the farm today, I can see how important the Duchy is to him, and also that he is committed to a sustainable future.”

Prince William’s visit was documented on his and wife Kate, Princess of Wales’ official Instagram page.

Alongside a photo of William with the farming family, a caption read: “‘Net zero’ means balancing the greenhouse gases we produce with the amount we remove from the atmosphere. Farmers are absolutely key to achieving this.

“Lower Blakemere Farm in Hereford is working towards net zero through regenerative farming.

“By restoring the land and embracing long-term solutions, the farm supports the Duchy of Cornwall’s goal to reach net zero by 2032.”
