Prince Andrew warned latest scandal may 'haunt him' as he could face 'FBI investigation'
The Duke of York has been making headlines againPrince Andrew has been warned that his latest scandal may “haunt him” following the recent revelation of an email.
The Duke of York, 64, has been embroiled in scandal for some years now. He stepped down from royal duties in 2019 amid his association with late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
In 2022, Andrew was stripped of his military titles and royal patronages amid his sexual assault civil case. He eventually settled out of court with his accuser Virginia Giuffre. Andrew has always denied allegations of sexual assault.
Now, in fresh scandal, an email allegedly contradicts comments Andrew made in his BBC Newsnight interview with Emily Maitlis about his friendship with Epstein.
Latest Prince Andrew scandal as emails emerge
At the end of last week, emails published in court documents were revealed. They showed an email sent to Epstein from a “member of the royal family,” believed to be Prince Andrew.
The email read: “Keep in close touch and we’ll play some more soon!!!!”
The documents, from Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), state the email was sent in February 2011.
He was friends with Epstein for years and has never answered for it.
However, during his Newsnight interview in late 2019, Prince Andrew claimed he had cut off contact with Epstein in December 2010.
New reports claim that new FBI head Kash Patel told a Senate hearing that he wants to investigate anyone linked to Epstein – who took his own life in prison in 2019.
In addition, speaking to The Sun, a source has claimed: “The FBI should reopen its investigation.
“Andrew has to face justice. He was friends with Epstein for years and has never answered for it. Kash Patel should release all the FBI’s files immediately.”

Duke of York email could ‘haunt him’
Now, a royal commentator has shared his thoughts on the latest information.
Richard Fitzwilliams told Royal Insider that the email “may haunt” the royal.
Following the news of Andrew’s daughter Princess Beatrice giving birth to her second daughter recently, Richard said: “Normally, with the announcement of his granddaughter Athena’s birth, it would be a happy week for him.
“The catalogue of horrors range from the Newsnight interview to his catastrophic friendships and the unexplained photograph of him with Virginia Roberts Giuffre who has accused him of sexual assault.
“More information has surfaced which makes clear that when he said on Newsnight he had no further contact with Epstein after December 2010, it was apparently untrue.”
Meanwhile, Richard added: “They were emailing each other and, in a phrase that may haunt him, he wrote ‘Keep in close touch and we’ll play some more soon.'”
