Prince George isn’t ‘totally comfortable’ with being in front of cameras

Despite having grown up in the public eye, there are still a few things Prince George, 11, has yet to get used to.

According to royal insiders, the young prince is reportedly a little camera shy – especially when it comes to doing royal engagements.

The Times royal editor Roya Nikkhah made the claim during an appearance on the podcast The Royals with Roya and Kate.

Roya said: “I’ve been at the rugby with him and he’s still not totally comfortable in front of the cameras and in front of the media. I don’t blame him. He’s got a lifetime of it ahead of him.”

Being in front of the cameras is going to become a big part of George’s life as he gets older. According to royal author Phil Dampier, his parents Prince William and Kate are trying to prepare George for his future as king.

“He is attending royal events such as Trooping the Colour, the coronation and big set events and he is slowly being introduced to those,” he told The Sun’s Fabulous last year.

Dampier continued: “He will also privately be taught about the history of the royal family and its role in society. He will also slowly be introduced to the workings of state, visiting courtsParliament and other important institutions.”

Prince George school news

The young prince has been hitting the headlines recently amid reports claiming William and Kate are narrowing down their search for schools to send him.

George will turn 13 next summer, meaning he will need to move school to continue his education.

According to reports, Kate and Prince William have narrowed their search down to four schools.

He’s still not totally comfortable in front of the cameras.

One school they are reportedly thinking of sending him to is Eton College. William and Harry both attended the £63k-a-year school in their youth.

Another option for George is a spot in Kate’s old school, Marlborough College, in Wiltshire. Not only did Kate and her siblings attend the £59k-a-year school, but Princess Eugenie did too.

Highgate School in North London and University College School Hampstead (also in the north of the capital) are also reportedly options for the future king.

Kate and William may have ‘sealed decision’ on children’s schooling future

However, royal expert Jennie Bond is of the opinion that William and Kate have already made up their minds regarding George’s future education.

Speaking to OK! magazine last month, she said: “A big year for George… I imagine the decision about where he goes next has been pretty much sealed by now. I might take a punt on Wellington College.”

She also predicted that George’s younger siblings Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six, could follow suit.

“It’s only half an hour from Windsor; the pupils can board (full-time or weekly) or be day students. And… a huge plus…. it’s co-educational, which means all three could go there in the future. Sounds ideal to me!” she then said.
