Dame Anna Wintour addresses Princess Kate Vogue rumours after King Charles meeting
The Vogue editor-in-chief reportedly offered Princess Kate the cover
Dame Anna Wintour made headlines this week not just for receiving a prestigious Companion of Honour award from King Charles, but also for addressing rumours about a potential Vogue cover for Princess Kate.
The Vogue editor-in-chief, 75, attended a special investiture at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday (February 4). She received the Order of the Companions of Honour for her services to fashion.

For the occasion, the style icon opted for a sophisticated gray Alexander McQueen skirt suit.
While she is famously known for her signature oversized sunglasses, and is very rarely seen without them, she removed them once inside the palace.
However, she didn’t leave all of her iconic accessories behind – she showed off a massive amethyst necklace, rumoured to be a reworked piece from Queen Mary’s historic jewelry collection.
Yeah, I don’t know where those have come from, do you?
After receiving her honour, Wintour took the time to address one of the hottest royal rumours: Will Princess Kate pose for another Vogue cover?
When asked about reports that the Princess of Wales had been offered a global Vogue cover, Wintour responded vaguely.
“Yeah, I don’t know where those [rumours] have come from, do you?” She told reporters, according to the Mirror.
The speculation stems from a January 25 report by the Daily Mail. The article claimed that Wintour had personally invited Kate to appear on the cover of Vogue – not just for British Vogue, but for a global edition.
The article stated that the Princess of Wales would have full creative control, including the choice of photographer, fashion styling and whether or not to grant an interview.
If true, the offer would mark Kate’s second collaboration with Vogue. The first was her 2016 British Vogue cover, where she posed in the countryside wearing a Burberry trench coat and hat.
Despite Wintour’s dismissive comment, the idea of a high-profile global cover featuring Kate remains a possibility.

Kate's cancer diagnosis
Kate faced one of her most challenging years in 2024 after her cancer diagnosis. She announced the news publicly in March of that year. She underwent treatment and announced the end of that in September 2024.
Then, in January 2025, the Princess of Wales announced she was in remission with her cancer and would slowly return to her royal duties.
During the event, Kate walked hand-in-hand with a little girl into the gallery – a moment that quickly went viral.

The visit marked the launch of the Bobeam Tree Trail, a new interactive exhibit running until March 16, where children create self-portraits and “feed” them to a magical tree that thrives on stories.
