Meghan Markle and Prince Harry 'spending Valentine’s Day apart'
Meghan left the Invictus Games early to get back to their kids in California
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be celebrating Valentine’s Day from different countries it seems this year as the Duchess of Sussex has flown back to California while he remains in Canada for the 2025 Invictus Games.
After spending time in Vancouver and Whistler, Meghan, 43, recently returned home to Montecito to reunite with their two children, Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three.
“This was always planned. Meghan is going home to be with her children,” an insider explained to HELLO!. “This is Prince Harry’s event, and she is there to support him, but this was planned.”
Meanwhile, Prince Harry will stay in Canada until the closing ceremony on Sunday, February 16.
This means that the couple will likely be apart for Valentine’s Day, which falls on Friday.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry ‘celebrated Valentine’s Day early’ in Whistler
Although they won’t be together on the 14th, Meghan and Harry, 40, reportedly made sure to celebrate early with a romantic dinner in Whistler.
According to Town & Country, the couple dined at Il Caminetto – an upscale Italian restaurant.
The evening mirrored their Valentine’s Day celebration in 2024. The couple dined at the same restaurant during the Invictus Games’ winter training camp.
This was always planned. Meghan is going home to be with her children.
Their pre-Valentine’s dinner this year was also a double date with Canadian singer Michael Bublé and his wife, Luisana Lopilato.
Meghan has long been a fan of Valentine’s Day.
The duchess once called herself “a sucker for Valentine’s Day” on her former lifestyle blog, The Tig.
In another post, she wrote: “Without fail, every February 14th, I wake up feeling like I’m immersed in a Robert Doisneau photo, waiting with bated breath to be dipped into a kiss. This is all happening in black and white, of course. And in Paris, if I had my way.”

Prince Harry’s thoughtful gift for Meghan for Valentine’s Day
Prince Harry has never failed to spoil Meghan on Valentine’s Day.
Last year, HELLO! reports that he gifted her a stunning pair of £3,240 ($3,600) Diamond Cascade earrings from Maya Brenner – one of Meghan’s favourite California-based jewellery designers.
She was spotted wearing the earrings during their recent dinner with Michael Bublé and his wife.
Meghan has worn Maya Brenner’s jewellery for years. She was seen donning a delicate necklace with the initials “H” and “M” back in 2016, which first confirmed her relationship with Harry.
Before leaving Canada, Meghan made her final public appearance at a family-and-friends tubing event in Whistler.
The event marked her farewell to the games. Meanwhile, during a Whistler Welcome celebration event this week, Harry poked some fun at his wife as he introduced her to the crowd.
“Now she’s going to sing!” Harry quipped.
Meghan laughed and quickly shut down the idea, earning cheers from the audience.
After Meghan’s departure, Harry has continued his role at the games.
Although they may be apart this Valentine’s Day, Meghan’s heartfelt social media post about their kids Archie and Lilibet cheering on Harry and the competitors from home shows that they remain connected.
