As Suits spin-off lands, chances of Meghan Markle return revealed
Meghan left Suits after meeting her husband Prince HarryBefore she met her now husband Prince Harry, Meghan Markle rose to fame in the US drama Suits.
Now that a Suits spin-off is about to air, what’s the chances Meghan could make a return in the future?
While the spin-off Suits LA is set in an entirely new town, with new characters, it has been confirmed that Gabriel Macht, who plays Harvey Specter in the original series, will return.
And the possibility for other guest appearances haven’t been ruled out. Including Meghan Markle’s.

Why did Meghan Markle leave Suits?
Meghan Markle left Suits after its seventh series, which aired in 2017. Her character, Rachel Zane, got married and moved to a different state with her husband Mike Ross – played by Patrick J. Adams.
But of course, the real reason Meghan left the show was because she was dating Prince Harry, 40, and the pair got engaged in 2017, meaning she was going to be marrying into the royal family. They were also living in the UK after getting married and were full-time working royals.
Over the years that has changed. The couple now reside in California after stepping back from their senior royal roles in early 2020.
Meanwhile, Meghan’s showbiz career is beginning to make a return with her new Netflix show With Love Meghan airing in March. But could we ever see her make a highly-anticipated Suits return?
Here is everything that has been said about whether or not it is possible.
Is a Meghan Markle Suits return a possibility?
Back when Suits LA was only in discussions, one of the show’s executive producer Gene Klein spoke to TV Line about the possibility of a Meghan return.
At the time, he simply stated: “I would assume that’s just not possible.”
Aaron Korsh, the creator of Suits and Suits LA, also took to X to answer fan questions. When asked if Meghan would return, he responded: “I am open to everything. But we do want to launch [new] characters on this show.”
At the time of Meghan’s Suits exit, Korsh admitted he took a “gamble” by writing her out of the show.
He explained on BBC Radio 4’s Today show in 2017 that once he realised she and Harry were getting serious, he decided to “plan” on her having to leave the show for royal life.

What have Meghan Markle’s co-stars said?
Over the years, since Suits ended, Meghan’s co-stars have all admitted they lost contact with the duchess after she and Harry got married.
Gina Torres, who played Jessica Pearson, explained last year that Meghan was no longer in the Suits group chat. And her simple reason for this was: “We don’t have her number. We just don’t.”
However, Patrick J Adams recently admitted she got in touch with him and that he would love for them to work together again.
We would be lucky to have her in the industry again. It would be amazing to work with her.
Speaking on a Reddit thread, he explained last October: “We are not really in touch. She leads a very different life now for obvious and important reasons. But upon hearing about [his] podcast, I got a lovely text saying how excited she was for us and asking how she could help in any way.
“So it’s lovely to still have that support and friendship after so many years apart.”
As for a potential return to Suits, he spoke at the Golden Globes last year. He said: “I would do it. Mike and Rachel in Seattle. I think Meghan is a fantastic actress. We would be lucky to have her in the industry again. It would be amazing to work with her.”

What Meghan has said about an acting return
During Meghan and Harry’s very famous Oprah 2021 interview, the duchess was asked if she would ever return to acting.
While she didn’t give a definitive answer, Meghan stated: “Never say never.”
Meanwhile, speaking to Vanity Fair in October 2022, she said: “I left Suits right after the 100th episode. I didn’t think I would ever be in the entertainment industry again.
“But the entire culture has changed; streamers have changed things. The ability to create zeitgeist moments like we had in the ’90s that doesn’t happen anymore.”
Earlier this week, at the 2025 Invictus Games, Meghan met a young fan who had watched her on Suits. Their interaction allowed Meghan to speak about the show for the first time in years.
She joked with the fan, apologising for not wearing a “pencil skirt” like her character wore in almost every episode.
So while a Meghan Markle Suits return seems unlikely, it also doesn’t appear to be completely outside the realms of possibilities.
Suits LA premieres on February 23, 2025 on NBC.
