Prince Harry could be set to reunite with a royal couple this weekend at the Invictus Games 2025.

The Duke of Sussex, who founded the games in 2014, has been in Canada for events since February 8. His wife Meghan Markle joined him for five days before returning home to their children Archie, five and Lilibet, three, in California.

Prince Harry, 40, will remain in Canada until the end of the games on February 16 and might soon reunite with a fellow prince and his wife.

Prince Harry could reunite with Prince Joachim and Princess Marie at Invictus Games

According to reports, Prince Joachim of Denmark and his wife Princess Marie will fly out to support the Invictus Games this weekend.

HELLO! reports that their household has confirmed the couple will meet Danish athletes at the games on Friday and Saturday.

However, it’s unclear if they’ll bump into Prince Harry at the events.

Prince Joachim – the younger brother of King Frederik of Denmark – and Prince Harry have met previously.

They crossed paths in Copenhagen in 2017 as Harry made an official visit to Denmark. Harry visited a military training centre and joined Joachim at a Rolling Floorball match, a sport invented by Danish veterans.

Prince Joachim’s similarities to Prince Harry

Prince Joachim and the Duke of Sussex share some similarities in their lives as royals.

Joachim and his wife moved to Washington D.C. in late 2023 as he took on a new role in the American defense industry.

Their decision came a year after an alleged family feud with his mother Queen Margrethe II over royal titles.

In October 2022, Queen Margrethe announced she was stripping Joachim and Marie’s children of their royal titles. She claimed that it was to “futureproof” the monarchy.

However, Joachim publicly expressed his discontent. He told the Danish media that his children were being “mistreated” by his mother.

Harry and wife Meghan Markle also stepped back from their royal duties in early 2020 and moved to the United States. They’ve set up life in California with their two children.

Rumours of a rift between Harry and his family have been persistent for years.

When did the Duke of Sussex set up the Invictus Games?

The Duke of Sussex set up the Invictus Games in 2014. The Invictus Games is an international multi-sport event for wounded, injured and sick military service personnel, both serving and veterans.

Harry himself served in the British army for 10 years.

Following a visit to the US Warrior Games in 2013, in which he saw how sport can help wounded servicemen and women in their recovery, Harry was then inspired to create the games. He wanted to shine a spotlight on the men and women who have served in the military.
