The moment Prince Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales’ marriage started to “deteriorate” has been alleged in a new book.

The now King Charles was married to Diana from 1981 to 1996. They had split in 1992 and are the parents of Prince William, 42, and Prince Harry, 40.

A new book has made claims about Charles and Diana’s relationship, recalling a moment when their marriage “started to deteriorate” – and it had nothing to do with “other woman” claims.

The “other woman” claims refer to Charles’ alleged affair with his now wife Queen Camilla during his marriage to Diana.

The moment Charles and Diana’s marriage ‘started to deteriorate’

Royal author Tom Quinn has written a new book called Yes, Ma’am: The Secret Life of Royal Servants. The book has made a string of allegations about the royal family.

In one extract, seen by the Daily Mail, the book claims that Princess Diana – who died in 1997 – didn’t like the royal family’s Scottish estate Balmoral.

A hunting and fishing expert spoke to the author about Charles and Diana’s relationship. Apparently, Diana found traditional outdoor activities at the Scottish residence boring.

However, the then Prince of Wales was a keen fox hunter and enjoyed stalking as a young royal.

But Diana wasn’t keen on the sport of hunting, and that was the “start of the deterioration of their relationship” according to an insider.

They reportedly say in the book: “That, I think, was the start of the deterioration of their relationship, whatever people say about it being entirely about the other woman!”

Princess Diana’s ‘resentment’ towards Charles during relationship

A previous royal book claimed that Diana had resentment towards Charles during their marriage thanks to their different interests.

In her book The Duchess, royal author Penny Junor detailed how Charles and Diana’s struggles emerged on their honeymoon.

She resented him sitting for hours at his easel, too.

She claimed in the book: “He’d taken along his watercolors, some canvases, and a pile of books by the Afrikaner mystic and writer Laurens van der Post, which he’d hoped he and Diana might share and then discuss in the evenings.

“Diana, however, was no great reader. She hated his wretched books and was offended that he might prefer to bury his head in one of them rather than sit and talk to her. She resented him sitting for hours at his easel, too, and they had many blazing rows.

“One day, when Charles was painting on the veranda deck of Britannia, he went off to look at something for half an hour. He came back to find she’d destroyed his painting and all his materials.”
