11 years ago, Meghan didn’t exactly have the highest of praise for future sister-in-law Kate.
The Duchess of Sussex was writing about her childhood dream of being a princess when she mentioned Kate.
“Little girls dream of being princesses. I, for one, was all about She-Ra, Princess of Power,” she said.

“For those of you unfamiliar with the ’80s cartoon reference, She-Ra is the twin sister of He-Man and a sword-wielding royal rebel known for her strength. We’re definitely not talking about Cinderella here.”
“Grown women seem to retain this childhood fantasy. Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and endless conversation about Princess Kate,” she then added.
Meghan’s comments came two years before she met Prince Harry in 2016.

Meghan Markle renames her business to As Ever
The resurfacing of Meghan’s comments comes on the day that she announced some major career news.
The duchess took to Instagram to announce that her business, America Riveria Orchard, has undergone a re-branding.
It will now be known as As Ever. Patent applications have revealed that as well as preserves, As Ever’s product range will include textiles such as tablecloths and napkins.
As Ever will also offer home furnishing including throws, blankets, candles, and diffusers.
“This new chapter is an extension of what has always been my love language, beautifully weaving together everything I cherish — food, gardening, entertaining, thoughtful living, and finding joy in the every day,” she wrote in the video’s caption.
In the video, Meghan explained the name change too. “‘As Ever’ essentially means as it’s always been, and if you’ve followed me since 2014 with The Tig, you know I’ve always loved cooking and crafting and gardening – this is what I do,” she said.

Meghan Markle and Princess Kate’s ‘fallout’ including wedding tears
When Meghan first started dating Prince Harry, and the pair got engaged in 2017, it was said that she and Kate shared a close friendship.
However, just months after Meghan and Harry's spring 2018 wedding, rumours of a rift between Kate and Meghan surfaced.
Meghan Markle and Princess Kate's wedding 'fallout'
In late 2018, reports emerged claiming that Meghan Markle had left Princess Kate in tears in the lead-up to her wedding to Harry.
Royal commentator Camilla Tominey claimed sources had told her that Kate was left in tears over her daughter Princess Charlotte's bridesmaid dress fitting. It was claimed that Charlotte’s dress didn’t fit and a further fitting needed to be scheduled.
In their 2021 interview with Oprah, Meghan claimed that it was actually Kate who made her cry.
She said she was left in tears following an exchange with the now Princess of Wales.

She said: "It was a really hard week of the wedding, and she was upset about something. But she owned it, and she apologised, and she brought me flowers and a note apologising. She did what I would do if I knew that I hurt someone, to just take accountability for it."
Prince Harry later shared text messages apparently between Kate and Meghan in his 2023 memoir Spare.

Harry said Kate had messaged Meghan saying that Charlotte was upset over the dress. Meghan replied, asking if Kate could take Charlotte to Kensington Palace to have it altered. However, Kate reportedly wrote back and said the dresses needed to be remade.
According to Harry, Meghan was left "sobbing" over the exchange.
The state of Kate and Meghan's relationship now doesn't seem to be great. However, Meghan and Harry spoke out in support of Kate when she shared her cancer diagnosis in early 2024.
Royal fans were loving the adorable snap, with many taking to social media to gush over it.
“OMG this cover is everything Meghan and Lilibet running around in their backyard how beautiful,” one gushed.
“Mama and her Princess, Lilibet. As ever by Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex. How beautiful their lawn and view is?” another wrote.
“This is so picturesque. Can’t wait for the launch of #AsEver,” a third tweeted.
