William, Prince of Wales melts hearts with response to little boy's question about his royal title
A little boy wondered if William was the king...William, Prince of Wales had a super cute reply to a young boy who asked if he was the king during an engagement last month.
Prince William, 42, visited Liverpool in January as he met students at St Nicholas Catholic Academy.
One little boy, Mohammed, seemed keen to know more about the royal and asked a burning question.

William, Prince of Wales asked if he’s the king by schoolboy
In a video shared on social media, the young boy asked the prince: “Are you the king?”
Prince William replied: “No I’m not, no, I’m his son. What’s your name?”
After the boy replied, the prince added: “Nice to see you! You had a good day at school?”
They then took a selfie together as Mohammed got William to say “cheese” to the camera. How cute!
No I’m not, I’m his son! What’s your name?
The sweet moment caught the attention of royal fans, who gushed over the interaction.
One person said: “Aww, the boy is so lovely and cute and William [is] so humble and nice.”
Another wrote: “He is the most genuine, approachable person, I love him and his family.”
Meanwhile, someone else commented: “Love it. I found William very affectionate. He bent down to be closer to the boy, and replied simply. And the selfie at the end was very cute!”

Prince William’s sweet update on his children
Prince William is a dad himself to three children – Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six.
During his Liverpool engagements last month, William opened up about family life and hobbies his children like to do.
He was visiting Cycle of Life, a non-profit cycling organisation. The prince learnt about the OnTheGo project. It helps young people start businesses with cargo bikes. They also gain skills in finance, business and cycling.
During the visit, William said: “My children quite like pulling just the back brake and sliding along. Usually the back wheel will come past you. There is a technique.”

William and Kate’s ‘brutal’ 2024
Last year, William, wife Kate and their family went through a difficult year following her cancer diagnosis and treatment.
In January 2025, Kate announced she was in remission with her cancer. However, late last year, William had detailed the “brutal” year they had faced. His father King Charles was also diagnosed with cancer.

William told reporters during a South Africa trip in November: “It’s been dreadful. It’s probably been the hardest year in my life. So, trying to get through everything else and keep everything on track has been really difficult.
“I’m so proud of my wife, I’m proud of my father, for handling the things that they have done. But from a personal family point of view, it’s been brutal.”
