Prince William news
Yesterday (Tuesday, February 25), William returned to royal duties after a week away.
The Prince of Wales’ first port of call was a meeting with new England men’s football manager, Thomas Tuchel.
Taking to Instagram and X, William uploaded a picture of himself and the German football manager shaking hands – which you can see here.
“Great to meet new @england manager Thomas Tuchel for the first time today, and hear about plans for the team,” he initially captioned the post.
However, the post was swiftly deleted on X and re-uploaded with a new caption. It was also edited on Instagram to the new caption.
“Great to meet new @england men’s manager Thomas Tuchel for the first time today, and hear about plans for the team,” it read.
Of course, this is the more correct caption as Tuchel isn’t the manager of the whole England set-up. Sarina Wiegman is the manager of the England women’s team, something Tuchel will have no part in.

Prince William and England men’s manager Thomas Tuchel smile in photo
Plenty of royal – and football fans – took to the comment section to gush over the new picture.
“A football fan with a heart, only William the Prince of Hearts can do that!!!!” one fan commented.
“Great photo,” another wrote.
“Hope they enjoyed a pint together,” a third said.
“Very nice. Keep smiling always HRH Prince William. Best wishes for England team,” another wrote.
It’s believed that William and Tuchel’s meeting lasted around an hour. During the hour, Thomas shared his views on the team and his hopes for the future.
William, of course, was President of the Football Association for 18 years between 2006 and 2024.
In recent years, he has supported the England team in person at both the Euros 2020 and the Euros in 2024.

Prince William is a big Aston Villa fan
Prince William is known to be a big Aston Villa fan – and does occasionally get spotted at the games.
Just last month, the Prince of Wales jetted over to Monaco to watch Aston Villa play in the Champions League.
Last month, William also shared a pint with some Aston Villa fans in a pub in Birmingham. His meeting with them came just hours before Aston Villa played against Everton.
“I was quite amazed by how engaged he was with the club and his interest. He’s not a fair-weather fan. He really loves the club with a passion,” Villa fan Steve Jones said.
“We spoke about the club, the transfers, the pending Champions League trip to Monaco, and all things Aston Villa. He asked many questions, he’s got a good level of interest,” he then added.
Prince George has followed in his father’s footsteps and is also an Aston Villa fan.
