Meghan Markle paid tribute to her beloved dog Guy in her Netflix show With Love, Meghan following his death.

The duchess has taken the Netflix world by storm, dividing viewers over her latest project. Many observant watchers have been analysing the series with a close eye.

Of course, with so much riding on Meghan’s latest project, the editing of the programme had to be spot on – meaning one last-minute change had to be made before the series was shown to viewers…

Meghan’s show welcomed an array of guests including Abigail Spencer, Daniel Martin and Mindy Kaling.

The programme, which follows Meghan as she shares glamorous hosting tips with viewers, even garnered cameos from Meghan’s family members.

Prince Harry and Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, were seen in the final episode of the eight-part series, as well as the duchess’ beloved dog, Guy.

Sadly, Meghan’s beagle, Guy, died last year. Evidently, Meghan made a change to the editing of the programme to reflect her tragic loss.

At the end of the series a message flashed up on screen, stating: “In Loving Memory of Guy.”

In the series, Meghan gushed over just how special her precious dog was to her, sadly unaware at the time of filming her Netflix show that his death was on the horizon.

She admitted to being wrapped round Guy’s paw whilst making him his own batch of peanut butter dog treats.

Former actress Meghan said: “I would do anything for Guy, he knows it. He can do whatever he wants because he will be whatever guy you need depending on the day.

“My sweet Guy, my silly Guy, my saucy little Guy, always my spoiled Guy. He’s also my old Guy.”

Meghan gave an insight into Guy’s back story when sharing a heartfelt message to Instagram in wake of his death.

She lovingly penned: “In 2015, I adopted a beagle from a dog rescue in Canada. He had been at a kill shelter in Kentucky and given a few days to live. I swooped him up… and fell in love.

“They referred to him as ‘the little guy’ because he was so small and frail, so I named him ‘Guy’. And he was the best guy any girl could have asked for.”

She continued: “If you followed me on Instagram back in the day, you saw a lot of him – and on The Tig too. He was with me at Suits, when I got engaged, (and then married), when I became a mom….he was with me for everything: the quiet, the chaos, the calm, the comfort.”

Meghan also alluded to Guy’s presence in the programme, writing at the time: “Because many of you will now see Guy in this new series, I hope you’ll come to understand why I am so devastated by his loss. I think you may fall a little bit in love too.

“I have cried too many tears to count – the type of tears that make you get in the shower with the absurd hope that the running water on your face will somehow make you not feel them, or pretend they’re not there. But they are. And that’s okay too.”
