Meghan Markle under fire for remark about children Archie and Lilibet's accents on Drew Barrymore Show
Archie and Lilibet have grown up in AmericaMeghan Markle has been called out over new comments she made about her kids’ accents during an interview with Drew Barrymore on her show.
The duchess’ new Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, launched earlier this week and so far the reviews haven’t been pretty good.
Viewers have found themselves becoming annoyed at some of the comments that the Duchess of Sussex has made in the episodes. Fans have called Meghan out for ‘trying’ to be relatable – and failing.
The show also provided a glimpse into Meghan’s life with Prince Harry and their two children: Archie and Lilibet. But after an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, fans yet again feel like Meghan isn’t being honest.

Meghan Markle gushes over her kids’ accents in interview on Drew Barrymore Show
On Thursday’s (March 6) edition of Drew Barrymore’s talk show, Meghan appears to talk about her new cooking and lifestyle series.
The pair began cooking together, while Meghan was hit by rapid-fire questions. And it was one of her answers that really bugged viewers.
Some of their words they will still say with a British accent.
When Drew asked the 43-year-old if her kids do anything that fully reminds her of Prince Harry, Meghan admitted it is the way they pronounce certain words.
She gushed: “Some of their words they will still say with a British accent. So they will say ‘zebra’. They have these little moments where it just comes out.”
Meghan confirmed that they do “have very American accents” but there are moments that they say words “just like him [Prince Harry]”. The mum-of-two explained that she finds it “adorable”.
However fans were confused as to how her children would say any word with a British accent, considering they have spent very little time there.

Taking to X, one confused fan wrote: “Lili has been to the UK once and Archie was not talking when they left. And all of the snippets she has ever put out they have American accents.”
Another penned: “How could Meghan Markle’s kids possibly have a British accent? Do they have a British nanny? Go to a school where everyone has a British accent? Just Harry alone is not enough exposure to get an accent.”
“I highly doubt this is true since Archie has lived in the US since he was nine months and Lili has lived there her whole life,” another X user commented.
Another said of the interview: “It’s so nauseating.”
However, some defended Meghan, explaining that they probably are just copying their dad with some words.
One wrote: “She says they have an American accent. But that some words they pronounce like their dad. This is completely possible.”
Another wrote: “This is similar to my family. My kids pronounce certain words with a different accent.”

Meghan and Harry’s ‘honeymoon period’ amid divorce rumours
The update comes as Meghan gushed about her marriage to Harry to PEOPLE Magazine, admitting the pair were in their “honeymoon period” again.
Despite countless divorce rumours over the last few months, Meghan took her opportunity to put it all to rest. It seems she and Harry, 40, have actually never been stronger.
Speaking about Harry’s reaction to her filming her new Netflix show, Meghan said: “My husband met me when I had The Tig [her former lifestyle blog], and I see this spark in his eye when he sees me doing the thing that I was doing when he first met me.
“It’s almost like a honeymoon period again because it’s exactly how it was in the beginning when he’d watch me scribbling away, writing newsletters, fine-tuning edits and just really being in the details of it.”
