Meghan Markle’s ‘jealousy’ spotted by viewers as Drew Barrymore catches her off guard with Princess Diana photo
Drew recalled a memory of when she met Diana as a childMeghan Markle was surprised by Drew Barrymore this week as she appeared on her show for an interview.
The Duchess of Sussex, 43, was on the show to promote her new Netflix series With Love, Meghan. It premiered on March 4.
During the chat, Hollywood star Drew, 50, appeared to leave Meghan taken aback as she showed her a photo of the late Princess Diana.

At one point, Meghan and Drew were in the kitchen as the duchess whipped up some cookies.
Drew surprised Meghan by showing her a photo of when she was a child star and got to meet Princess Diana.
Drew met Diana at the premiere of her movie E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial in London in 1982.
Oh my gosh. Look at your little face! Oh, that’s so sweet.
As the TV star handed Meghan the photo, the duchess gushed: “Oh my gosh. Look at your little face! Oh, that’s so sweet. That is so special that you had it here.”
Drew gushed: “It means so much to me to have met such an incredible human being that transcended everything. It was the honour of my life.”
Meghan replied: “Oh my gosh, well, I will tell H that for sure,” referring to her husband, Diana’s son Prince Harry.
Drew said: “Okay, cool,” as they both laughed.
After watching the exchange, some viewers shared their thoughts online and thought it appeared “awkward” between Meghan and Drew.
Others claimed that Meghan looked “jealous”. Meghan never got to meet her late mother-in-law Princess Diana, who died in August 1997 following a car crash in Paris.
Meghan has often paid tribute to Diana though, in her clothing and jewellery.

One viewer claimed on X: “She’s so jealous Drew met Diana!”
Another wrote: “Looked more like Meg was jealous of Drew for having met Diana.”
Someone else added: “You could tell she was so jealous that Drew has a picture with Diana and she doesn’t.”
However, another viewer hit back: “Don’t be ridiculous, Markle and her team approved this beforehand.”
Another gushed: “It really was a cute pic Drew shared with Meghan. And Drew had nothing but praise for Diana. Very nice.”
Someone else wrote: “Oh my heart!” followed by heart-eyed emojis.
Meghan and Drew’s ‘awkward’ hug
A photo from Meghan’s appearance on Drew’s show has sparked much reaction online. It shows Drew hugging Meghan, who smiled and had her hand in her pocket.
According to body language expert Darren Stanton, Meghan appeared “rigid” during the “awkward” hug.

Speaking to Royal Insider on behalf of Betfair Casino, Darren said: “Drew appears to wrap herself around Meghan, who has her hands by her side. It is a pretty awkward hug. They were clearly not on the same page and didn’t show any reciprocation of gestures.”
