It’s been a busy few weeks for Meghan, as she has been promoting her new Netflix show With Love, Meghan. But it means fans are getting to see more glimpses at her private life.
When Meghan and Prince Harry left the UK and their royal duties in 2020, fans rarely got to see what the couple are actually like behind-the-scenes away from documentaries and books. But recently Meghan, 43, has been doing a lot of interviews, and naturally opening up about their life.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s nightly tradition in Montecito mansion
While promoting her Netflix show – which just got renewed for a season two – Meghan opened up to People Magazine about her and Harry’s relationship.
And it seems while they love to parent their two children; Archie and Lilibet, the couple do their best to make time for each other – especially in the evenings.
The 43-year-old duchess revealed she and Harry, 40, have a nightly tradition of “nightcap recaps” in their Montecito mansion.
This is when they spend time together with a drink, chatting about their days, while making lunch boxes for their children.
Away from that, they try to have “day dates” whenever both are available at the same time for lunch. But it’s the nightcaps that seem to be the tradition they stick to.
Speaking about their routine, Meghan explained: “I think all parents in this phase with kids the same age know it’s rinse and repeat.”
However, once the lunch boxes are finished, they continue to spend time together by catching up on some TV.
As for what they watch, Meghan revealed: “We love Shrinking. And we just finished Black Doves. We’re excited for the new season of The White Lotus.”
Meghan gave insight to her family life
This isn’t the only look into their private lives that Meghan has given lately, especially ever since she created a new Instagram account.
Over the last few weeks, Meghan has been sharing snippets of their lives. This has included images and videos that slightly feature Archie and Lilibet.
Earlier this month she even revealed an adorably sweet comment that Archie said to her.
Meghan explained that Archie told her: “Mama don’t work too hard.” She lovingly explained that it was the “sweetest thing”.
In the same chat with People, Meghan revealed a decision she made before she married into the royal family in 2018.
Before she met Harry, Meghan was a well-known actress, particularly from the US legal series Suits. Along with that, she also had a big presence on social media, and her blog The Tig.
However, when she got married, she had to give all of this up. A decision that she stands by years later.
She explained: “Well, I loved The Tig. But I certainly love my husband more. So that was a choice I made at the time. And I wouldn’t change that for a second.”
