In Prince William news, the royal is getting ready to go on a huge trip within the next few days, but without Princess Kate.

The 42-year-old royal is set to head to Estonia, marking the second trip there by a royal in recent months. But Prince Wiliam will be making the trip alone, as his wife continues to slowly integrate back into working life following the announcement she is in remission in January.

Last year, Kate took a step away from her royal duties completely as it was announced she was undergoing treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer. And now that she has began coming back to work, she has been attending a lot of royal engagements in recent weeks.

Prince William to take solo trip with wife Kate in latest news

On March 12 it was announced that William will head on a solo trip to visit Estonia on March 20 and 21. Despite beginning to take part in more engagements, Kate will not join him.

It comes as back in November 2024, William had expressed his desire that Kate would be able to do more royal travelling throughout 2025.

He told reporters at the time: “Hopefully Catherine will be doing a bit more next year. So, we will have some more trips maybe lined up.”

But that fails to be the case in this scenario. The visit will mark the prince’s first international trip of the year and his first ever time in Estonia. He will be travelling there in his role as Colonel-in-Chief of the Mercian Regiment. As part of the trip, he will learn more about how the unit is boosting NATO’s eastern flank.

Hopefully Catherine will be doing a bit more next year.

However, while he is over there, he will also take part in royal engagements in Tallinn – the capital city. Throughout the trip he will learn more about how Estonia has responded to the conflict in Ukraine.

It comes as Kate stepped out at the Commonwealth Day service this year after missing last year’s due to her cancer treatment.

Princess Kate made Commonwealth Day comeback

Kate walked alongside William at this year’s Commonwealth service. They were also joined by King Charles, who missed it last year due to his own cancer battle. Queen Camilla and Princess Anne also attended the service.

The 43-year-old princess opted to wear a red coat dress designed by Catherine Walker, and a matching hat by Gina Foster. She added red heels, with her hair in bouncy curls.

At the service William greeted his dad with a kiss on the cheek. But Kate instead curtsied at her father-in-law – which is the customary sign of respect among female members of the royal family.

In formal settings, gestures like a curtsy or a bow take precedence over casual greetings like a kiss or a hug.

However, Kate did share an embrace and a kiss on the cheek with Camilla.

During the service, William and Kate shared an adorably sweet moment posted on X. They shared a giggle, and fans appeared to love the moment.
