Kate Middleton performing the perfect curtsy after Meghan Markle's awkward comment goes viral
The Princess of Wales has perfected the royal moveKate Middleton has often performed the perfect curtsy at a series of royal events, most recently at the Commonwealth Day service.
The Princess of Wales was praised for her curtsy to King Charles at the service held at Westminster Abbey on Monday (March 10).
It comes after her estranged sister-in-law Meghan Markle’s awkward curtsy comments recently resurfaced as her Netflix show With Love, Meghan premiered.

Keeping with royal protocol and traditions, Kate has perfected her curtsy over the years. A curtsy is often performed by female members of the royal family while in presence of the king or queen. Female guests who meet senior members of the monarchy also perform the move.
The move sees them bending their knees while bowing their head to the monarch. Male members of the monarchy usually just bow their heads.
Over the years, Kate has been praised for her curtsy and most recently towards King Charles at the Commonwealth Day service.
As the king entered Westminster Abbey on Monday, Kate performed a curtsy.

One X user shared a photo – which you can see here – of the curtsy and wrote: “The Princess of Wales’ perfect curtsy.”
Another fan gushed: “Always so respectful.”
A third added: “Oh my God…. She is just PURE ELEGANCE.”
Before Charles was king, his mother Queen Elizabeth II was monarch. Kate was often seen curtsying to the queen too.
Most poignantly, at Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral in September 2022, Kate was seen curtsying to her coffin.

Meghan Markle accused of mocking curtsy in Netflix series
Recently, Meghan Markle’s past comments on performing a curtsy have resurfaced amid the launch of her Netflix cooking show With Love, Meghan.
In hers and Prince Harry’s 2022 docuseries on the streaming giant, Harry & Meghan, she spoke about the royal move. However, it sparked backlash online and people even thought Harry looked uncomfortable.
Meghan was recalling the first time she met Harry’s grandmother Queen Elizabeth II and he asked if she knew how to curtsy.

The duchess said: “I thought it was a joke. Now I’m starting to realise this is a big deal.”
Sitting alongside Harry, Meghan said: “Americans will understand this. I curtsied as though I was like..” before performing a deep bow as Harry watched on.

Sitting back up, Meghan smiled and said: “‘Please to meet you, Your Majesty.’ It was so intense.”
The moment sparked backlash online, with many calling Meghan’s “mocking” reenactment “disrespectful”.
