Meghan Markle defended as new podcast incites row over 'ripping off' another show
Meghan's new podcast is already feeling the heat...
Meghan Markle has announced her latest project, a new podcast, this week.
Dubbed Confessions of a Female Founder, Meghan’s latest project is set to dive into the world of business and the lives of the women who lead them.
Despite Meghan’s intentions seemingly being positive, her new podcast has already sparked a fresh row over her ideas.

It seems that Meghan Markle‘s latest project is already being slammed with accusations of copying. The Duchess of Sussex is being accused of ripping off another show, with a very similar title to her new project with Lemonada Media.
In wake of Meghan’s announcement post to social media, royal observers are chiming in with their thoughts. Unfortunately, the duchess garnered a slew of backlash over the title of the podcast.
One said: “Maybe you would like to know, Meghan Markle has ripped off another woman’s podcast called ‘confessions of a CEO’.
“A simple Google search would help Meghan.”
“Tell me you don’t have a single original thought without telling me you don’t have a single original thought,” another user fumed, alongside a screenshot of the Confessions of a CEO podcast.

Another mused: “Copycats again.”
A fourth accused the duchess of “always stealing” ideas from others.
Although, on the bright side, a string of fans are defending Meghan’s latest move and sharing their excitement.
One said: “Happy she’s doing her thing despite the critique.”
“I loved her first podcast, Archetypes, and can’t wait to discover this one,” wrote another.
“The devil works hard, but Meghan Markle works harder, they can never make me hate you. We love a hard working queen,” exclaimed a third.
Others pointed out that many podcasts on this topic have similar titles as one person said: “So now Meghan deserves criticism just because her podcast has a generic title? Are all these other women plagiarists too, or is it only considered plagiarism when it’s Meghan?” alongside a screenshot of other podcasts with similar titles.
YouTube star speaks out to defend Meghan Markle’s podcast news
Meanwhile, YouTuber Kady Méite has also defended the duchess. Many pointed out that Meghan’s podcast had the same title as Kady’s YouTube series.
Kady told Yahoo Lifestyle: “I completely understand why people are drawing connections, and I truly appreciate the support and understand their intention. But I also understand coincidences as well. It is highly unlikely Meghan even came across my channel but I am flattered by the thought.
“What does concern me is how quickly this is turning into another reason to drag a woman down. That’s not something I want to contribute to. I know firsthand what it feels like to have my work actually copied… this isn’t that.”

Meghan Markle accused of ‘copying’
This isn’t the first time Meghan has been accused of copying a concept.
Earlier this month, amid the launch of her latest Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, many viewers were comparing the programme to that of Pamela Anderson.
Pamela released her own programme, Pamela’s Cooking with Love, in February, with Meghan’s series following just weeks later.
It seems the backlash hasn’t got Meghan down. The duchess took to social media on March 13 to share the news of her podcast, gushing: “I’m so excited to share with you something else I’ve been working on: ‘Confessions of a Female Founder,’ my new podcast with @lemonadamedia!
“I’ve been having candid conversations with amazing women who have turned dreams into realities, and scaled small ideas into massively successful businesses. They’re opening up, sharing their tips, tricks (and tumbles), and letting me pick their brains as I build out my own business, As ever.
“It has been absolutely eye-opening, inspiring…and fun! (Because what’s the point if we can’t have some fun on this wild adventure?).
“First episode is April 8th!”
She could also be seen sporting a cobalt blue blouse in a promotional image.
