Prince William has an odd habit when it comes to supporting Aston Villa football club – and it involves his three children.

The Prince of Wales has become an avid supporter of Aston Villa over the years. He often attends games, cheering them on.

Now, he has revealed “superstitions” he has when it comes to the games he watches and also shared his “hope” for his three kids – Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six.

Prince William reveals Aston Villa habit he has with his children

Speaking to The Sun at Villa’s training ground this week, Prince William, 42, said: “If I’m home alone with the children, I probably don’t have the pre-match pint but I do have a bit of superstition about where I sit when I’m watching them.

“If we’re not doing very well, I start moving round the house quite quickly and I put the children in different positions hoping that’s going to change our luck.”

Meanwhile, revealing his hope for his kids, the prince added: “I’m kind of hoping they’ll all find their own teams in time. They don’t all have to be Villa fans.”

Prince William ‘trying not to be biased’ with kids’ football teams

The Prince of Wales said he tries not to be “biased” but “obviously they see how passionate I am about it”.

He said George, Charlotte and Louis watch matches with him and he tries to “spread the love a little bit”.

If we’re not doing very well, I start moving round the house quite quickly and I put the children in different positions.

In addition, the royal youngsters also have Aston Villa shirts and ask their dad to go to games with him.

How sweet!

In January, Prince William visited a Wetherspoons pub in Birmingham as he met with fellow Aston Villa fans.

Football fan Steve Jones said it all came about as Aston Villa reached out and let them know about William’s appearance.

Steve told Daily Mail: “We were contacted by the club saying Prince William wanted to meet a delegation of Villa fans as he was in Birmingham. He wanted to keep in the loop with everything going on at Villa.

“He was fantastic. I was quite amazed about how engaged he was with the club, his interest. He’s not a fair weather fan. He really loves the club with a passion.”

Meanwhile, earlier this week, Prince William cheered on Aston Villa in their match against Club Brugge.

Fans loved seeing the prince’s passion for the game. One person gushed on X: “I love to see Prince William happy and living his best life!”
