Awkward moment between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at Trooping the Colour 2019
Harry and Meghan appeared alongside members of the monarchy on June 8, 2019, for the Trooping the Colour balcony appearance. The event marked the late Queen Elizabeth II’s official birthday.
It saw the couple standing alongside Queen Elizabeth II, the now King Charles, Prince William, Princess Kate as well as other senior members of the family.
Prince Andrew and Princess Anne were also seen on the balcony.
It was one of Meghan’s first public appearances after giving birth to her and Harry’s son Prince Archie in May 2019.

What Harry said to Meghan on Buckingham Palace balcony at Trooping the Colour
Standing in front of her husband, Meghan was seen turning around to face him. Harry then said something and Meghan turned back around.
Speaking to the MailOnline, body language expert Judi James weighed in on the moment and said Harry appeared to tell Meghan off as though she were a “naughty kid”.
He should have been the one royal responsible for hosting his wife in the UK.
Judi said Meghan may have turned to speak to Harry to join in on “some of the small-talk the others, including Harry, were engaging in”.
At the time, a lip reader told MailOnline that Harry said to Meghan: “Turn around.”
But when Meghan continued to look at him, Harry reportedly said: “Look,” while nodding towards the front of the balcony.

Prince Harry should have helped Meghan ‘navigate her way through royal protocol rules’
Analysing the moment a few years on, Judi said: “Harry’s body language seems to do little to support or protect her.
“He should have been the one royal responsible for hosting his wife in the UK and helping her navigate her way through the royal protocol rules.
“Instead, when she turns, his expression seems to remain impassive and at the second turn he appears to enforce royal protocol with a meaningful and rather authoritative eyebrow flash.”
The moment has circulated online once again recently.
In early 2020, Harry and Meghan announced their exit from royal life. At the time, they revealed they would stepping back from their senior royal roles but would continue to support the queen.
They also said they wanted to become financially independent.
