US chat show host Jimmy Fallon has taken aim at Meghan Markle over the duchess’ surprising habit with a bag of pretzels that featured in With Love, Meghan.

During the first season of her new Netflix show, Meghan Markle showed viewers how to transfer pretzels from one bag to another – sparking Jimmy’s merciless mocking.

Meghan Markle ridiculed by Jimmy Fallon over pretzels

In episode one of With Love, Meghan, the former Suits star explained how she likes to offer her guests treats and gifts to ensure they have the best stay whilst visiting her stunning Montecito mansion.

The duchess showed Netflix viewers that sometimes it is easier to buy shop bought favourites rather than making them from scratch and demonstrated how to swap shop bought pretzels into another plastic bag, tie it with some ribbon and label it for that extra touch of class.

However, viewers were left unimpressed with this technique and it has sparked a flurry of headlines poking fun at Meghan.

Now, chat show host Jimmy Fallon has had his say and he is just as baffled by Meghan Markle’s hack for pretzels…

During his NBC programme The Tonight Show on Monday, Jimmy’s sidekick Steve Higgins asked him a slew of questions for their Trivia Night segment.

It was here that Higgins asked: “Ready, you’re going to get this. What is the number one question that mystifies scientists? Number one question.”

Famous presenter Jimmy guessed: “Is there life on another planet?” Higgins then joked: “Ooh, no. Why does Meghan Markle make her own pretzel bags? They don’t know why.”

The audience then erupted with laughter, with Jimmy also unable to contain his chuckles. He then quipped: “That’s interesting. She takes it from one bag and puts it in another bag, and that confuses people.”

In the first episode of With Love, Meghan, the duchess explained: “This, we’re just going to put into a different bag,” before transferring the supermarket bought peanut butter pretzels into a clear bag.

Meghan then explained why she ensures she labels the treats by hand, stating: “I know that Daniel [Martin] loves peanut butter but I’m going to label this anyway, you always want to be conscious if someone has a nut allergy.

“I’m packing this all up so I can take it home and prep the guest room.”

Meghan on The Tonight Show

The Duchess of Sussex was supposedly due to star on Jimmy’s show twice in 2022, with her first appearance in September that year axed after the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

NBC later claimed that Meghan would be appearing on the show in December 2022.

What we know about With Love, Meghan season 2

Just days after the premiere of season one, Netflix announced its decision to create a second series.

A source has told The Sun: "This may raise a few eyebrows but one thing which Netflix love is controversy – and this show certainly created a lot of debate.

"Many were so scathing about the eight-part series that they thought there was no way it would get another season.

"But it seems the streamer is delighted with the chatter its created on both sides of the Atlantic this week."

What will feature on Meghan Markle's cooking show for the second season?

Netflix hasn't yet revealed many details on the second season. However, the streaming giant said the second series has already completed filming.

It's due to premiere in the fall time of 2025.

According to reports, we could see a similar format to the first season with Meghan showcasing her tips and tricks on cooking, crafting, hosting and gardening.

It could also feature more celebrity guests.

What Meghan said about a second season of her Netflix show

Gushing on Instagram, the Duchess of Sussex said: "If you’re loving season 1, just wait until you see the fun we cooked up on season 2!

"Thanks for joining the party, and an endless thanks to the amazing team and crew who helped bring it all to life!"

However, royal reporter Omid Scobie denied this, and the channel later admitted it had made a mistake with the announcement.

Prince Harry made an appearance on the show last year. During his appearance he was seen exploring a haunted maze with the chat show host in New York.
