'Reason' behind Prince William and Kate Middleton’s ‘touchy-feely’ behaviour in public
William and Kate have stopped hiding their lovePrince William and Kate Middleton usually keep their relationship out of the public eye. But recently they have been appearing closer than ever.
Over the last few months fans have been treated to numerous romantic gestures from the prince and princess. From a romantic Valentines Day post, to holding hands during their visit to Wales, they have not held back their love for each other.
The change in behaviour comes as Kate makes her return to working royal life following her cancer battle that forced her to take time out last year. Now, royal experts told People Magazine the real reason they are closer than ever.

Why Prince William and Kate Middleton are being more public with relationship
Fans have been thrilled to get more glimpses into the couple’s personal lives. While it may not be the usual royal tradition, many hope it stays.
Kate revealed in January that she was finally in remission and has since returned to public duties. It appears she is coming back intent on creating a new chapter.
Ingrid Seward, royal expert and biographer, explained: “They are happy for people to see them be touchy-feely. They are in a different phase of their life now. William is very protective and proud of her for coming through this and carrying on with her life.”
This is backed up by royal historian Amanda Foreman, who said: “There is a sense of protectiveness and partnership. And just in time, frankly. If there was ever a time when the country required stability, this is it.
“The international stage is so unstable, it is rather extraordinary to see how both have risen to the occasion.”
While they have been putting on a united front, both royals have also been embarking on solo projects. William headed to see his favourite football team Aston Villa, and Kate continued the tradition of handing out St. Patricks Day shamrocks to Irish guards – something she missed last year.
According to royal biographer Robert Hardman, these moments bring the pair a “feeling of resetting the dial”.

William at his ‘lowest’ after Kate’s cancer diagnosis
Of course, Kate’s cancer journey played a huge part in bringing the pair closer. But it also seemed to be an extremely difficult time for them behind closed doors.
Last month, a former palace aide, Jason Knauf, sat down for an interview with 60 Minutes Australia. He revealed that Kate’s diagnosis was the “lowest” he had ever seen William.
He said: “Within a couple of weeks, if you were Prince William, you find out that both your wife and your father have cancer. I couldn’t believe it.”
Recalling the phone call in which Prince William told him the news, he revealed: “It was awful, absolutely awful. It’s the lowest I’ve ever seen him.
“The problem was that all this crazy conspiracy theory stuff kicked off in the background online, ‘was she really ill?’ But they didn’t want to say she had cancer because they hadn’t told the children.”
Even Jason admitted that the experience made the pair focus on creating “time to be parents first,” something which they always factor into their royal duties.
