Meghan Markle’s ‘messiah complex’ and royal family fears

In a new book penned by royal author Tom Quinn, he claims that palace staff accused Meghan Markle of having a “messiah complex”.

Speaking to Fox News Digital recently, he said: “Several of the aides that I spoke to, as well as the more junior staff, said that Meghan had what they called a ‘messiah complex’.

“I think what they meant was that, as a working royal, she could save all the people whose lives were difficult,” he then added. “She could help with all sorts of problems, including poverty. She had this sense that came from a very good motivation that she could change the world for the better. But the aides saw her ideas of doing good as completely out of proportion to what she actually could do.”

‘Duchess of difficult’

“They felt she had these grand ideas, but there was no way a single person could do what she wanted to do. And I think there was also a suspicion that Meghan was trying to be more like William and Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, that she was trying to do the same thing. And I think there was irritation that her sense of importance would reflect badly on the royal family,” he said.

One member of Meghan’s former staff also allegedly claimed that the duchess was “focused” on becoming the “best known and most loved” member of the royal family.

Buckingham Palace were reportedly concerned by Meghan’s plans. Quinn added that it was never going to be “acceptable” for Meghan to “outshine” the late queen.

Palace ‘begged’ Harry to step in

According to Quinn, palace staff begged Harry to step in and intervene in Meghan’s big plans.

However, they began to learn that the Duke of Sussex was going to defend “everything Meghan says or does”.

Quinn then went on to say that he could see why Meghan’s big ambitions could be a problem. He explained that being married to the “spare” meant that Meghan had to take a “back seat”, which she didn’t do.

He added that whilst she may have “exaggerated” her ability to do good, it likely came from a “sincere” place.

The royal author then went on to say that Meghan even picked up a rather cruel nickname during her time as a working royal. He revealed that she was nicknamed the Duchess of Difficult. However, this wasn’t just a nickname attributed to her by palace staff, but allegedly by other royals too.
