While one royal fan said: “The king supporting his little sister is what makes this new monarchy so special to watch, they are all doing this together.”

They’ve always been close

As younger royals, they shared a passion for horse riding, likely from their mother Queen Elizabeth II. Anne never lost this, competing in the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal and European Three-Day Event championships where she took home gold and silver medals.

Whereas Charles has enjoyed playing polo, and did so for more than 40 years.

The Princess Royal also previously described herself as the “eyes and ears” of The Firm, being one of the king’s trusted aides.

During his coronation, she was the king’s Gold-Stick-in-Waiting, a formal bodyguard position, and resumed the role again during the State Opening of Parliament.
