Royal’s adorable video for Mother’s Day
In a heartwarming post on Sunday (March 30), Kate and Prince William hinted that the Wales family had welcomed a new addition to the family.
The princess posted a video celebrating Mother Nature and “our bond with the natural world”.
In a series of clips, a range of stunning vistas, lush green woodlands and blossoming flowers were shown.
“Over the past year, nature has been our sanctuary,” Kate wrote.
“This Mother’s Day, let us celebrate Mother Nature and recognise how our bond with the natural world can help not only nurture our inner selves, but remind us too of the role we play within the rich tapestry of life.”
However, it was one clip featuring Prince William that got royal fans talking.

Prince William and Kate Middleton spark rumours they’ve welcomed new dog
In one clip in the video, seemingly taken from Kate’s family video last September when she announced the end of her cancer treatment, Prince William is seen walking through a field. The family dog, Orla, is on his heels – as is another pup.
The family only have one dog, so who is the mystery pooch? Some fans speculated that the family have got a new dog.
“Guys, Orla has a new brother or sister,” one royal fan tweeted.
Does anyone know Princess Catherine’s new dog’s name?
“Princess Catherine has a new puppy,” another wrote.
“Does anyone know Princess Catherine’s new dog’s name?” a third asked.
No confirmation has been made, but reports suggest the dog could belong to either Kate’s brother James Middleton or her parents Carole and Michael. A similar looking pooch regularly features on James’ Instagram account.
Another fan also pointed out on X: “I just found that this dog appears in Princess Catherine’s video announcing the end of her chemotherapy. Zoom in! The new [dog] was there all this time.”
They were referring to the family video Kate shared in September 2024, of their summer break in Norfolk, as she announced the end of her cancer treatment.

Kate defended over Mother’s Day post
Last year and the year before, Kate uploaded a family picture to celebrate Mother’s Day.
However, in 2024, thanks to her somewhat editing of a family photo, there were some wild conspiracy theories thrown around. Some of the speculation concerned her health, marriage and even whether she was still alive or not.
Kate’s Mother’s Day post last year came during a time where she hadn’t been seen in public for a few months. She underwent abdominal surgery in January 2024. Just a couple of weeks after Mother’s Day, Kate shared her cancer diagnosis publicly, ending speculation about her whereabouts.
This year, Kate opted not to share a family photo, posting her gorgeous Mother’s Day video instead.
Some fans appeared disappointed by this decision.
“You’re all waiting for a photo but looks like we’ll have to settle for mother nature instead,” one grumpy royal fan complained.
However, there were plenty of royal fans who were quick to defend Kate.
“After the debacle last year, I do not blame them for not posting one,” one fan said.
“After how everyone behaved last year, I wouldn’t be surprised if she never shared one again – and I couldn’t blame her one bit!” another said.
“They’ve always done something different every year. Even before last year it wasn’t precedent to post a new picture of her with the kids every single year,” a third wrote.
