Prince Harry ‘misses’ Charles, Lord Vivian’s wedding

Over the weekend, Charles, Lord Vivian, 58, a PR expert who apparently helped Harry set up several of his charity trips to Africa, got married.

He reportedly tied the knot with Saweda Kamara at the Chelsea Old Town Hall in London. A reception was said to have taken place at the NoMad Hotel after.

However, despite being an usher at Lord Vivian’s first wedding, Harry was absent from this one. This is despite being on the guest list.

Harry and Lord Vivian have a close bond. Charles was one of Harry’s “Band of Brothers”.

‘Real reason’ Prince Harry missed Charles, Lord Vivian’s wedding

Speaking to reporters after the ceremony, Charles was asked where Harry was.

“I don’t know. He has a lot on,” he said, according to MailOnline.

However, a source has now seemingly revealed the real reason behind the duke’s absence.

The source said that the main reason for Harry’s absence was because “security wasn’t provided for the visit, which makes attending events or moving around the UK very challenging”.

Royal Insider has contacted Harry’s representatives for comment.

Prince Harry back in the UK

The Duke of Sussex is back in the UK this week as he continues his battle for security while in the country.

Harry has appealed a High Court ruling that denied his challenge against the Home Office’s decision to downgrade his UK security after stepping back as a senior working royal in 2020.

Though he offered to personally fund the security, the Home Office rejected the proposal. They argued that taxpayer-funded police protection is not available on a private basis.

“The UK will always be Prince Harry’s home and a country he wants his wife and children to be safe in,” a legal spokesperson for the duke said. “With the lack of police protection comes too great a personal risk.”

Before heading into court on April 8, Harry was asked about his father by reporters.

“Did you speak to your dad?” one reportedly asked. However, the duke ignored the question as he headed into the courthouse.

Harry felt ‘forced’ to quit life as a working royal

In court, a written submission revealed that Harry and Meghan felt as though they were “forced” to step back from life as working royals. They claimed that they felt as though the monarchy wasn’t “protecting” them enough.

A barrister for Harry said: “On 8 January 2020, (the duke) and his wife felt forced to step back from the role of full time official working members of the royal family as they considered they were not being protected by the institution, but they wished to continue their duties in support of the late queen as privately funded members of the royal family.”

It’s been claimed that numerous threats have been made against the Sussexes since they left life as working royals.

A written submission claimed that even terrorist group Al Qaeda have expressed desire to have him assassinated.
